Charlotte Bellamy details gruesome accident on set that saw her ‘rushed to A&E’
Laurel was supposed to be pregnant at the time which caused confusion!
Emmerdale star Charlotte Bellamy once “chopped off the top of her finger” while filming the soap. She was rushed to hospital whilst wearing a fake baby bump, causing all sorts of confusion!
Despite her character Laurel being the one with her fair share of dramatic moments in the Dales, this time it was Charlotte herself who had to go to A&E – and it still wasn’t that straightforward.

Emmerdale star Charlotte Bellamy in A&E dash
On Wednesday (July 3) Charlotte appeared on Lorraine. She was there to talk about Laurel’s latest storyline which sees her collapse unable to breathe. However, while chatting to host Lorraine Kelly, the soap star soon began to recall another perilous moment on set – but for her personally rather than for Laurel.
Charlotte explained to Lorraine: “So during filming, I was making a Bolognese, as you do, with a very blunt knife. And on the take, I chopped the top of my finger off.
“But at the time, I was pretending to be pregnant as Laurel, and so I had to get rushed into A&E with the prop man.”
It then turned somewhat farcical as members of the public became confused over her fake baby bump, mistaking it for a real one!
“They were so confused and worried about my baby,” Charlotte laughed, “but obviously my baby wasn’t real.”
She continued: “And I had to say ‘that’s not my husband’ and ‘this isn’t real’. But I had actually chopped the top of my finger off.”
Shame it wasn’t super-hospital Hotten General!

Emmerdale spoilers: Does Laurel survive her collapse?
Of course while Charlotte was fine after the incident, the same might not be said for Laurel in her upcoming storylines. Tonight (Wednesday July 3) things take a dramatic turn when Laurel collapses in church.
Things are tense between Laurel and Jai after she discovered the truth about what really happened to Amit. Jai is desperately trying to squirm out of telling Suni the truth, but furious Laurel won’t let it lie. After he follows her to the church where she’s seeking solace, another argument breaks out and Jai ends up insulting Ashley.
Not good.
After she sends him away and makes her feelings about Jai perfectly clear, Laurel feels dizzy and collapses as she struggles to breathe. She can’t reach her phone. But Gabby finds her and calls an ambulance.
Meanwhile, Jai is trying to confess everything to Suni, but stops in his tracks when he gets the call about Laurel. He rushes to her side, but will she pull through?
