And Todd has proved she means business by using Vanessa as a pawn in her dark plot. Charity now faces a desperate race against time to get the money and buy Todd’s silence. And next week she’s left with little choice over how to raise the funds. Charity was horrified (Credit: ITV) Dr Todd blackmailed Charity in Emmerdale tonight Having inherited her dad’s old house Dr Todd wants the funds to move and renovate it. But she doesn’t have anything left after her divorce and her early retirement. She has come up with a plan to get the money though and tonight (Wednesday May 14) told Charity she wanted to be paid for her silence over baby Leyla. At first Charity told her to do one and insisted she wasn’t afraid of her and no one would believe her. But Todd then made it very clear she was serious when she kissed Vanessa in full view of the Woolpack regulars. She was making a point to Charity that she was everywhere and she had Vanessa where she wanted her. She’s furious next week when she’s denied a loan extension. But Todd is not easing up and continues to pile on the pressure. Ruby shows an interest in buying Charity’s share in the pub, but Caleb is not behind the idea. He thinks it would cause backlash in the village and he’s not prepared to deal with it. However he can see how desperate Charity is and tries to help. Todd clocks them and later lets herself into Charity’s house. Charity is horrified to come downstairs and find the doctor holding Leyla. Todd wants to know what her conversation with Caleb was about. Charity explains and Todd presses her harder giving her a deadline of one week for the money. Later Todd starts a darts game with Mack and Ross, showing Charity just how much she can meddle in her life. Charity decides to try and take her on, confronting her outside the toilets. But despite her tough act, it’s not long before Todd makes her realise she has no power here. Left with no other choice, Charity approaches Kim Tate. She makes her an offer: half of the pub at a discounted price. Kim tells her she will consider it. But is this the only option for getting Todd off Charity’s back? Will paying up even work?
