While many Emmerdale fans believe it’s someone on the main suspect list, it seems Arthur is more involved than we knew. And after tonight’s episode, it looks like he would be very capable of murder. But what exactly happened? And when can Emmerdale viewers expect to learn the truth about Ray’s death? Here’s everything we know. Arthur was shocked about Ray (Credit: ITV) Arthur acted suspiciously in Emmerdale tonight Tonight, Ray’s body was found in Jai’s van at the Depot. And very quickly, the police were trying to get answers. But with quite a lot of people wanting Ray dead, it seems there is a lot of information to find. But when Billy headed to the cafe, he filled everyone in on how the body had been discovered. And Laurel immediately looked shaken. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Later, Nicola tried to make sure Laurel was okay but this just left her annoyed as she doesn’t want anyone thinking she was okay with what Ray was doing. But when Nicola left, Arthur appeared beside his mum, and she told him off for pulling another sickie. However, things get more suspicious when she told him that Ray’s body has been found – leaving him shocked. At the very end of the episode, Laurel, while wearing gloves, throws a red duffel bag into the bin, then throws a bunch of bin bags on top of it. So now the big question is, has she just covered up a murder that her son committed? Fans think Laurel is covering for Arthur (Credit: ITV) Did Arthur kill Ray? Emmerdale fans immediately began wondering if these scenes indicated that Arthur may have killed Ray. And they took to social media to share their theories. One said: “Wonder if Laurel is covering for Arthur?” Another theorised: “Maybe it was Arthur and that’s why he’s pulling sickies.” “I think Arthur killed Ray and Laurel is shaken because her son stepped up to protect her” a third penned. But while the theories continue, Emmerdale’s show boss confirmed when viewers will learn the truth. And thankfully, it’s not that long to go. Speaking to press about upcoming storylines, producer Laura Shaw revealed that viewers are about to discover the truth about Ray’s killer. She explained: “Following the discovery of Ray’s body, villagers’ secrets will come out as the mystery surrounding Ray’s death is finally solved. “Before the end of January, a special week will flash back to the night of the murder, revealing which of the multiple suspects is responsible for Ray’s death.” So, with only a few more weeks left in January, it seems Emmerdale viewers are so close to learning whether Arthur killed Ray. Or if it was someone else entirely. What else happened in Emmerdale tonight? It was a busy episode of Emmerdale tonight, as multiple people faced a lot of questions from the police. As Robert caved and planted evidence on Moira, he spent tonight's episode trying to make her look innocent. But Joe had a lot of other ideas. The depot became a crime scene in Emmerdale tonight As the police arrived at the depot, very quickly they discovered Ray's body. And naturally, Jai was the first one in the firing line. He couldn't help himself much as everything he said just made him look more and more suspicious. Especially as he admitted he had the only set of keys for that van. But when the police left, Jai and Caleb chatted about the murder, and it's clear that even Caleb is wondering if Jai had more to do with it. Robert and Victoria were questioned As part-owners, Victoria and Robert were questioned about Moira and Celia. But both of them tried their hardest to make sure Moira came out looking innocent. However, it was clear that the police had other thoughts. Moira explained her history with Celia in Emmerdale tonight When Moira arrived home with a newly-discharged from hospital Cain, the pair immediately faced their own questioning. Moira explained all about the dodgy deals, and her well-documented slap. But she emphasised that she had no idea about any of the human trafficking. But Joe Tate may have destroyed everything Later, the police headed to see Joe, as he was Celia's landlord. And he took the opportunity to throw Moira under the bus even more. He explained that he and Kim stayed out of the way, but that they knew something was going on because of how close Moira and Celia were. And when he went to make them a coffee, he was delighted to hear them talk about getting a search warrant. Dylan struggled with Ray's death The news about Ray's death slowly made its way around the village. But one person who seemed actually upset was Dylan. April tried to make him see that Ray had been manipulating them from the very start, but Dylan disagreed, believing that Ray was a victim himself and should have been able to get a fresh start.
