Is this the end for Cain and Moira? His Charity secret is out and Moira has exploded

It was not a good night for Cain Dingle tonight, not a good night at all after he discovered his cancer has most likely spread and then Moira found out he had propositioned Charity.

As Moira told him she was done with him, Cain didn’t even really apologise. Big mistake, Cain.

So can the most beloved couple in Emmerdale sort it out? Or is this just one mistake too far for Moira to forgive?

Cain finds out his cancer has spread in Emmerdale

A trip to the hospital on Tuesday June 16 did not bring good news for Cain. He found out that although his recent surgery was successful, tests have shown it’s highly likely the cancer has spread.

As a result he will need radiotherapy. But this has to wait until his body is fully healed from the operation – and that could be months.

Even worse was to come when Ms Rhodes told him this kind of treatment could mean the side-effects he is currently suffering – incontience and erectile disfunction among them – might be permanent.

Although the couple decided not to tell Kyle and Isaac the news, Cain’s temper eventually got the better of him. The boys overheard him exploding and realised something was terribly wrong.

Cain stormed out – as he always does – and Moira went to look for him.

Charity reveals all

Meanwhile, Charity, drowning in her own pain, was downing the wine. Moira called in to see if Cain was there, but Charity instead dropped the bombshell Cain had previously propsitioned her when Moira was in prison.

Of course we know he didn’t really mean it, he was drunk and wallowing and would never actually have gone through with it, but Charity made it sound much worse. And, despite trying to backtrack, Moira could only think back to when Cain had slept with Ruby while she was having surgery for a brain tumour.

Moira confronted Cain in Emmerdale and in the end all hell broke loose

When Cain then returned home, Moira immediately confronted him with what she knew. Cain told her it wasn’t the day to talk about it, but Moira wasn’t having that. She railed at him for using anything as an excuse to storm off and sleep with someone else.

“Unlikely,” he said. “Who’d have me?”

“Not me. Not right now,” she replied hurtfully.

So Cain hit back calling her “fickle” and she stormed off.

Is this the end for Cain and Moira in Emmerdale?

Cain has made many mistakes before that Moira has forgiven, but is this one step too far?

He didn’t really even apologise, so that might be a start, Cain!

Right now, Cain seems to be too busy wallowing in his own self-pity to realise the hurt his actions are causing other people. Can he pull himself out of this?

Next week, spoilers show Charity encourages Cain to open up to Moira. But as he agrees to talk to his wife, will being honest be enough for her to forgive him?

Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain, has previously said he doesn’t know whether Moira and Cain will come through this. However he then commented that “this will be a story about how ultimately their love for each other is so strong” giving us hope it’s not over yet…
