Cain and Moira ‘falling apart’ in Emmerdale

As Tuesday’s episode (April 28) began, Cain was still angry at everyone and he lashed out at Moira again. She was trying to tell him about Robert, but decided against it, not wanting to stress him out any more.

Aaron later counselled Cain that he needed to sort things out with Moira and Cain realised he was right.

But Moira was preoccupied with a shotgun and Joe Tate. She revealed she knew what he had done and was going to make him pay with his life.

Graham attempted to stop her, but it was Dawn, who revealed she was pregnant, that finally got Moira to walk away. They promised no police, but Joe later told Dawn he wouldn’t let the incident go unchecked.

Meanwhile, back at Wishing Well, Cain and Moira finally talked. They started to open up about their feelings and how much they were both struggling.

As the tension eased, things got intimate. But as Moira commented, “Finally” Cain grew upset and stopped things. He accused her of only being after one thing from him.

She tried to make a joke of it, describing him as a ‘piece of meat’ but he stormed off. It was clear thoughts of their romantic relationship being affected by his surgery were at the forefront of his mind.

Moira shouted as he headed out of the door: “We are falling apart here and I don’t know how to fix it. Do you?”

Special Moira and Cain episode to air tomorrow

The ending leads us into Wednesday night’s episode where the focus is entirely on Cain and Moira. Although not a two-hander it does cover their relationship and sees Cain come to a big – and devastating – decision.

Cain is still finding it hard to express his fears over the cancer and the operation. He visits Zak’s grave for comfort, but even then he can’t open up.

Liam is worried about his friend and heads off to see if there’s any way he can get through to Cain. Meanwhile, upset and fearful Moira confides in Chas about the relationship with her husband falling apart.

At Wishing Well, Cain makes an admission to Liam, who later returns to tell Moira and Chas of Cain’s decision. He reveals Cain is planning to cancel his surgery.

Desperate to stop him making this massive mistake, no one knows how to get through to a stubborn Cain.

It’s Pollard who approaches Cain by Zak’s grave. He shares his own fears about his Parkinson’s and the future. But will what Eric has to say resonate with Cain? Will it be the push he needs to have the operation?

If Cain doesn’t go ahead with the treatment it’ll spell the end of his marriage to Moira. Even if she does support him, he won’t survive to spend their future together. Can he really accept death when there’s something he can do about it?

Also in Emmerdale tonight...

Emmerdale tonight wasn't all Moira and Cain drama. Paddy and Mandy were also arguing and Charity's return from the hospital raised concerns.

Mandy's suggestion angered Paddy

Paddy was trying to draw a giraffe for Eve and he started reminiscing over a memory from years ago. He was laughing, but almost crying over it.

Mandy was upset, knowing how much the impending trial could change their lives. Not okay with losing her husband she impulsively suggested they let Bear take all of the blame. She insisted it was what he had wanted to do anyway and Paddy could change his statement saying he had lied to protect his dad.

Paddy was horrified and stormed off. Mandy later went to find him and tried to explain how scared she was. Paddy understood where she was coming from, but insisted he would not let his dad take the blame.

After they made up, Paddy said he didn't want Mandy to put her life on hold if he went down. But she told him no one would break them apart and she would wait for him as long as it took.

Ross starting to crack in Emmerdale tonight

As Sarah and Jacob spent some time together, Ross arrived with a gift from Moses. He was then invited to the family gathering later to welcome Charity home from hospital.

Awkward, Ross had no choice but to agree and turned up with Moses. Charity warned him off, but he later cornered her outside and couldn't help saying how beautiful their baby was.

Charity told him not to make comments like that and Ross promised that was it. He was then invited to be part of a family photo, but insisted he wasn't Leyla's family. The tinge of sadness in his voice made it very clear this is taking its toll on him. How much longer can he keep up the lie?
