And it’s only going to get worse for Paddy next week as spoilers reveal Bear’s outburst has serious consequences for them all. Bear insisted he was ready to be released (Credit: ITV) Bear returned in Emmerdale tonight On Friday March 13 Paddy got a call from the secure mental health unit to say Bear was being assessed for release. He’s been there less than two weeks, but it seems the medication they put him on and some talking sessions worked miracles and Bear is back to his old self. Paddy arrived at the unit to find his dad upbeat and ready for release. He had accepted what Ray and Celia did to him and would face any more questions the police had for him. Paddy was understandably worried and begged his dad to fake the assessment to fail and avoid prison. But Bear was adamant he is now better and ready to go to prison on remand. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers So when he was allowed home it was a mere matter of minutes before DS Walsh turned up to take him to the station. He has to undergo more questioning about Ray and is also in trouble for breaking his bail conditions and assaulting Jacob. He is interrogated again by DS Walsh and soon gets stressed. Walsh has a theory that his wrestling experience means he knew exactly what he was doing when he killed Ray. Bear being locked up again after what Celia and Ray put him through is too much to take. Paddy admits it is his worst nightmare. With the walls closing in, Paddy has only one solution: he has to tell the truth about what really happened. He knows this means implicating himself, but can see no other way out. Dylan refuses to let him do this alone and together they head to the police station. Mandy accompanies them and is heartbroken over what is about to happen. Paddy and Dylan both confess their part in the murder cover-up and are charged with perverting the course of justice. Bail is uncertain and the distraught family want to help in any way they can. They know they need a witness to attest that Ray was intending to kill Dylan. Laurel was the last person to see Ray alive, so they hope she can help.
