Can Vinny do better than Gabby? We think so – here’s who he should be with instead
Is Vinny too good for Gabby?
In a small village like Emmerdale, one’s options might be quite limited – how else to explain the pairing of Gabby Thomas and Vinny Dingle? The couple first got together last year, and have been love’s young dream ever since, no matter how unlikely they might seem.
Vinny’s first love since the death of wife Liv, Gabby came onto the scene in a new romance for the shy young Dingle. Together they have overcome his inexperience and her struggle with his colourful family – staying strong as he discovered the identity of his birth mum, Tina Dingle.
But is there trouble in paradise already? Earlier this week, we saw Gabby’s eye start to wander – in Joe Tate’s direction. And, as she spent dinner with the Dingles that evening, it became evident that Gabby was starting to have second thoughts about her relationship.

Emmerdale fans dismayed for Vinny as Gabby crushes on Joe
Writing on a Reddit thread, fans debated their relationship, describing Vinny as ‘too lovely’ for Gabby, who they feared was on the verge of breaking his heart.
“In last night’s ep Gabby came across as feeling too good for Vinnie, and the Dingles,” another noted.
“I’ve never thought they should be a couple. I don’t believe Gabby would have been truly interested in Vinny as more than a friend to begin with,” said a third.
“Vinny and Gabby are a mismatch. She’ll break his heart for sure,” another viewer commented.
“She was weirdly snobbish about the family meal as well,” agreed a fifth.
But if not Gabby, then who?

Who should Vinny be with?
For a while, it seemed as though Vinny was on track to be with Belle. He stuck by her through her abusive relationship with Tom King – copping a beating from jealous Tom for his trouble – and the pair have always shared a tender, gentle chemistry together.
However, last year’s revelation put paid to that one – making Vinny a blood Dingle, and Belle his aunt.
If not Belle or Gabby, then perhaps it’s time for a new love interest for Vinny – a new character we’ve not seen before, maybe. It’s a small village and, with the dating options so limited (Victoria, maybe? Or Ella, who’s about to leave), maybe it’s time to start looking further afield.
Vinny, as one commenter said, ‘deserves a bit of TLC.’ Failing that, someone who doesn’t turn their nose up at Dingle pie – and isn’t so easily swayed by the superficial charms of scheming Joe Tate.
