Since arriving in Emmerdale, John has been shrouded in mystery and his visit to the hospital has only compounded that. But fans believe they know who the man in the coma is. He’d often act shifty leading fans to wonder if he really is John Sugden. Last week, a special flashback episode gave viewers a glimpse into John’s warped mind – when it was revealed that he has a hero complex. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers But there are still many questions about John that need answering. One of which is who did John visit in hospital? During Wednesday’s episode , John sat himself down next to a hospital bed and asked the man, who appeared to be in a coma, “You and me, what are we going to do? Or what am I going to have to do?” There has been a lot of speculation over who the man could be, from the mysterious Aidan Moore to Jamie Tate. But fans have now come up with an alternative theory. (Credit: ITV/ Shutterstock) Fan theory predicts Alex Moore is the man in a coma in Emmerdale Taking to Reddit to discuss who the mystery man in the hospital could be (No, it’s not Mackenzie Boyd!), some fans had an interesting theory. One fan posted some pictures of Alex Moore and wrote: “Still think it’s this guy.” They then added: “If he’s in a coma, it is possible for him to look different due to facial hair.” A second fan responded: “Alex! As in Dawn’s ex?? It does look like him to be fair, similar,” with the original poster replying: “Yeah I think that’s who he was, he’s also a drug dealer for Dawn, so could be linked like that to John.” Another fan noted the surname is the same as the mysterious Aidan Moore, writing: “He looks like Alex Moore, I wonder if that’s Aidan, his brother.” Alex Moore was in Emmerdale between 2021 and 2023. He is the ex boyfriend of Dawn Fletcher and the father of her son Lucas and Clemmie – who Dawn is the guardian of. Alex left the village after attempting to steal drugs and being run over by Billy.
