Coronation Street star Ryan Mulvey reassures fans after sharing worrying career update
Fans will be breathing a sigh of relief
Coronation Street fans were worried that Ryan Mulvey was leaving the soap after he posted a career update to social media.
Taking to his social media this week, he shared a ‘day in the life’ video. But, more specifically, ‘a day in the life of an unemployed actor.’
Fans were then left worried that could mean he’s leaving the cobbles. But, Ryan quickly gave them a further update that confirmed he’s still playing Brody on the ITV soap.
Coronation Street’s Brody Michaelis
Brody Michaelis rocked up onto the Coronation Street at the start of 2025, being introduced as a bad boy mate of Dylan Wilson’s in the STC.
He soon started giving Dylan a hard time, and pressurising him into carrying out orders.
Once he got released, he and Dylan managed to find themselves on good terms. But, Brody’s troublesome streak didn’t end there. He formed a habit of stealing and causing fights with neighbours, struggling when his dad Mick went on the run and ended up getting locked up for killing Craig Tinker.
Brody was then in for a shocker when Mick Michaelis disowned him once it was revealed that Kit Green was actually Brody’s biological father. Bernie Winter – Brody’s grandma – tried to look out for the struggling teen as best she could.
She tried to get him back on the right path when Brody’s mum Lou was also locked up.
Shanice and Joanie – Brody’s two sisters – were fostered by Sally and Tim Metcalfe. And, Brody bagged himself a job at the garage.
But, is it almost time for Brody’s story to come to an end? Could he soon be leaving the Street?
Ryan Mulvey ‘hints’ at Brody Michaelis exit
Ryan Mulvey stunned fans this week with a new vlog-style post on his TikTok account. He shared a ‘day in the life’ video, but the title has now worried some.
He titled the montage of clips: ‘Life of an unemployed actor: Day 1,’ with fans fearing that this meant he’s no longer starring in Coronation Street as Brody.

In the video, Ryan could be seen showing his daily routine now that he’s not working. He could be seen making cups of tea, going to the gym, and opening a few parcels.
Fans then took to the comments to question whether this truly was the end for Brody Michaelis.
One fan asked: “Is Brody leaving then?,” while another person wondered: “Wait what? You leaving Corrie?”
A third person exclaimed: “Some tea here!!,” noting that Ryan had seemingly just dropped a major Corrie exit bombshell.
Brody Michaelis actor confirms future on the ITV soap
This Friday (October 24), Ryan reassured his fans in a new TikTok post addressing his original video.
Instead of being ‘unemployed’ and out of work, he just admitted that he wasn’t filming back on the cobbles until the New Year so he had some spare time on his hands.
In the video, Ryan said: “I’m still at Coronation Street. As all actors know, you go through really busy and really quiet periods.
“I’m just in a quiet of being in between storylines and whatnot. I’m not filming until the New Year but as soap actors, that’s kind of what you do. You just go from really busy to really quiet.”
He then shared his aim of recording his daily routine to ‘cure his boredom of not doing the thing he loves everyday.’
While there might be a quieter period on screen for Brody, he’s not going anywhere for the time being!
