The Inner Circle: Celebrity line-up confirmed for Amanda Holden's new 'high stakes' BBC quiz show
Anita Markoff | 2:26pm Mon 22 SepAmanda Holden is fronting new primetime quiz show The Inner Circle – and she’s bringing a host of celebrities along for the ride.
The Inner Circle is coming to BBC One very soon and host Amanda says it’s unlike anything audiences have seen before.
There are two versions of the series; a daytime one, where members of the public compete for a big cash prize, and a celebrity spin-off, which airs in a primetime evening spot.
Here’s everything we know so far about The Inner Circle, including its celebrity contestants, how it works and start date.

What is The Inner Circle?
The Inner Circle is a new “high stakes” quiz show that sees six contestants going head-to-head for a cash prize.
Each player is secretly allocated a hidden cash pot containing anything from £0 to £4,000 – and they can keep it a secret. Contestants then face a series of quiz rounds. They’ll need general knowledge and sharp instincts to master them.
The aim is to figure out who’s holding what, who can be trusted, and who needs to be eliminated and sent home. It is sounding similar to ITV‘s The Fortune Hotel, so far!
The contestants will come up against each other in tense head-to-head battles. The winner receives immunity and special powers, although these are yet to be revealed! But eliminations come down to a vote, which no doubt will hang on how much cash players think their rivals have.
The final showdown will see two contestants standing – and they face a nail-biting decision. Do they split the combined prize, or shaft? Will will one person betray the other and take all the money? Brutal!
How does The Celebrity Inner Circle work?
The Celebrity Inner Circle specials will see the six civilian contestants each pair up with a celebrity. This results in six teams of two.
Throughout the game, the celebrity will work with their player to help them stay in. Their aim is to ensure the player gets to the final showdown to win their prize.
The prize fund also changes with the celebrity special. Instead of £4,000, a player can have a maximum of £5,000 in their hidden prize pot.
Who is taking part in The Celebrity Inner Circle?
The star-studded line-up for the Celebrity Inner Circle is full of familiar figures from the worlds of sport, TV, music, and comedy. TV presenter Zara McDermott, singer JB Gill, actor and charity founder Sarah Parish are in the line-up.
Kaiser Chiefs star Ricky Wilson, Olympic gold medalist Sam Quek and radio presenter Melvin Odoom are also stepping up to the challenge. They are joined by news anchor Charlotte Hawkins, EastEnders legend Nina Wadia and drag performer Lawrence Chaney.
And that’s not all! Comedians Lou Sanders and Maisie Adam are trying their luck. Gladiator Montell Douglas – aka Fire – is taking part in the Celebrity Inner Circle, as is Paralympic champ Hannah Cockroft and Olympic athlete Colin Jackson.
TV presenters Jason Mohammad, Jeff Brazier, Owain Wyn Evans and Kaye Adams round off the glittering cast.

The Inner Circle’s host
Amanda Holden will be at the helm of this show, and she’s no stranger to primetime entertainment. The presenter, 54, is already a familiar face from the TV.
She’s a judge on ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent and has co-hosted several BBC show’s alongside comedian Alan Carr, including Alan & Amanda’s Spanish Job. She made her Netflix debut this year with Cheat: Unfinished Business.
Amanda also co-hosts Heart FM’s Breakfast Show with Jamie Theakston. But this will be her first time stepping into TV quiz show territory.
Producers have described Amanda’s mischievous hosting style as a perfect fit for a game involving trust and betrayal.
Amanda, meanwhile, says: “I’m so excited to be part of this thrilling new quiz that challenges contestants and entertains viewers in equal measure. It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring something fresh and fabulous to weekday afternoons and Saturday night TV, and I can’t wait to see the audience reactions!”
