Strictly Come Dancing: First look at Week 5 Icons group dance

Over on the official Strictly Come Dancing Instagram page, our pro dancers gave us the low-down on their Britney medley.

“In this dance, all of us professionals are playing different iconic Britney Spears moments,” explains Jowita Przystal.

Jake Leigh, who choreographed the impressive routine, adds: “We start off with Amy [Dowden] dressed as our school girl Britney.

“We go all the way up until Circus, which is Nadiya being our ringleader Britney.”

Jowita then goes on to explain which styles of performance have been incorporated into the dance. There’s plenty for the audience to keep their eyes peeled for: expect jazz funk, vogue-ing and some cheeky Latin to finish.

“We’ll definitely be doing our best to match Britney’s incredible energy on stage,” says Lauren Oakley. “Fingers crossed we can pull it off!”

When is the Strictly Come Dancing Icons Britney dance?

You can catch the professionals performing their Britney-inspired dance in the Sunday night results episode of Strictly Come Dancing.

All the Icons Week action starts on BBC One on Saturday October 25 at 6.35pm. The show will also feature the remaining 11 celebrity couples and their Icons Week routines.

Of course, it wouldn’t be icons week without our showbiz stars dancing to some absolute legends. Prepare to hear some Dolly Parton, Beyonce and Prince on the dancefloor!

Strictly Come Dancing: Sunday performance

It’s not just our pros you need to watch out for to channel their inner icons. The judges will also be getting in on the act; with one ready to go full Elvis Presley.

Sunday night’s show will also welcome Hollywood and West End star Rachel Zegler, who will also perform Don’t Cry For Me Argentina from her musical, Evita.

And sadly, it’ll be curtains for one couple. The two couples that have low scores from the judges and the least public support will be forced to perform again in the dreaded dance-off.

Only 10 couples will make it through for Strictly’s annual Halloween spectacular.

Will Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman still be hosting Strictly Come Dancing?

Icons Week comes just days after long-time Strictly Come Dancing hosts, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, announced they would be quitting the show after two decades.

The pair blindsided fans when they announced the news on Instagram earlier this week.

However, both Tess and Claudia will see the rest of the season through before passing on the sparkly baton to a new host.

While there has been plenty of speculation online, the new hosts are yet to be officially announced.
