A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 2: What time it’s out and last week's recap
Episode 2 will introduce 3 new Targaryens
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 2 will pick up with Dunk and Egg in Ashford Meadow, so make sure you know exactly what time it drops and everything that happened in episode 1.
If you watched Game of Thrones, you’re already aware of Ser Duncan the Tall – you may just not realise it. Early in the series, as Joffrey reads the Book of Brothers, he remarks to Jaime: “Four pages for Ser Duncan… must have been quite the man.”
So far, we’ve seen him poo behind a tree, threaten to give a young boy a “clout in the ear”, and dance with a rather charismatic Baratheon.
However, his story is just beginning, and we’ll get to see the next chapter when A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 2 drops.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 2 release date and time
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 2 will first air at 3am UK time on Monday, January 26, before airing again at 9pm that night.
It’s frustrating, but you need to remember that it’s not a show exclusive to the UK.
Just like Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon, it’s an HBO production, which means Sky’s release times need to align with when the episodes air in North America and international territories. You can check when it drops in other time zones below:
- 7pm PT (January 25)
- 8pm MT (January 25)
- 9pm CT (January 25)
- 10pm ET (January 25)
- 12am Brazil
- 3am UK
- 4am Central Europe
- 5am Eastern Europe
- 8:30 am India
- 11am China
- 12pm Japan and Korea
- 1pm Australia (AEST)
- 3pm New Zealand
And, again, remember you don’t need to stay up to the early hours of the morning (unless you’re really worried about spoilers). It’ll be on TV again at 9pm… or there’s another option.
As for what to expect, this is the official synopsis: “Dunk appeals to several lords to gain entry into the tournament… but Egg advises him to hold onto his pride. When the Targaryens arrive at Ashford, Dunk seizes the moment with Prince Baelor.”
Where to watch A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is exclusively available via Sky and NOW TV in the UK.
That means you can either watch the episodes as they air on Sky Atlantic, or you can watch them on-demand whenever you feel like it.
Here’s the good news: episode 2 will be available to stream after it airs at 3am, so you can wake up in the morning at a normal time and watch it straight away.
Viewers in the US will be able to stream it on HBO Max, which is launching in the UK in March 2026. That won’t affect Sky, though, so don’t worry about adding another direct debit to your streaming bill.

Episode 1 recap: What happened?
Episode 1 introduced us to Dunk, aka Ser Duncan the Tall, a hedge knight (in other words, lowborn and poor).
In the opening scenes, he buried his mentor: Ser Arlan of Pennytree. He continued onwards to Ashford Meadow to compete in a tournament against other knights… even though nobody can vouch for him being a real knight.
Crucially, he picked up a squire along the way: Egg, a young stableboy who asked Dunk if he could accompany him. Reluctantly, he agreed.
Later in the episode, thanks to a chance meeting with Raymun Fossoway, Dunk ended up in the tent of House Baratheon. He met Lyonel, known as the “laughing storm”, and a frosty start gives way to an evening of drunken dancing and jollity.
That night, as Dunk and Egg tried to get some sleep under a tree, Egg pointed out a shooting star and how it brings good luck to those who see it.
Dunk thought he was talking rubbish, but he quickly realised the sentiment behind what Egg said. If all the other knights are sleeping in tents, they won’t have seen the star. “So the luck is ours alone?” Dunk asked, and Egg smiled.
