What happened in episode 4?
In A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms episode 4, Ser Duncan the Tall was forced to gather knights to defend him in a trial of seven.
Initially, Dunk demanded a trial by combat. Aerion Targaryen, clearly intimidated by the hedge knight, invoked the right to a trial of seven. In short, Aerion and Dunk get six knights each, and they all fight until one of them yields (or dies).
On the day of the trial, Dunk had six knights by his side: Ser Lyonel Baratheon, Steffon Fossoway, Ser Robyn Rhysling, Ser Humfrey Hardyng, and Ser Humfrey Beesbury.
Steffon betrayed them, so Lyonel knighted Raymun instead.
That left one slot to fill, or else Dunk wouldn’t be allowed to take part and would instead face execution.
In the closing scene, there was a twist: Baelor, Aerion’s uncle, volunteered to join Dunk’s side. Just as the credits rolled, the trial began.
