David and Victoria Beckham are preparing for another uncomfortable moment in the spotlight thanks to a new documentary on Channel 5.

The Beckham Feud: Truth & Lies places the couple’s fractured relationship with son Brooklyn firmly at its centre.

Television execs have fast tracked the 90 minute programme examining the fallout following Brooklyn’s Instagram statement about his parents last week.

It was the first time he has spoken about the feud.

The documentary promises viewers a “forensically” detailed account of how the famously close family reached this point.

The Beckhams have not taken part, yet their very public rift with Brooklyn will be examined in full view of millions.

David and Victoria Beckham: Brooklyn feud documentary

The Beckham Feud: Truth & Lies is scheduled to air next week on Channel 5.

It opens with Brooklyn’s April 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz and the tensions that surfaced in the aftermath.

The programme revisits claims that Brooklyn and Nicola distanced themselves from key Brand Beckham moments, including David’s 50th birthday events.

And it also explores Brooklyn’s explosive Instagram statement, which sent shockwaves through the family last week.

None of the Beckhams appear in the film. This includes Brooklyn and Nicola.

Instead, contributors include showbiz journalists, branding specialists and psychologists. They will all be offering their perspective on how the situation has unfolded.

Channel 5 explains: “With insight from showbiz journalists who have tracked the Beckhams for decades, branding experts who understand how the Beckham machine was built, and psychologists who unpack the emotional toll of growing up famous, we will analyse this feud in forensic detail.”

The broadcaster also asks: “Is this just another celebrity spat or the unravelling of one of Britain’s most famous families?

“And when every move is watched, shared and judged, is there any way back from a very public family breakdown?”

The Beckhams’ feud with Brooklyn

The announcement is unlikely to be welcome news for David and Victoria, arriving just a week after Brooklyn’s statement thrust the family into intense public focus.

Victoria, in particular, faced heavy criticism following allegations made by her eldest son.

Brooklyn alleged that Victoria cancelled Nicola’s wedding dress at the last minute. He also claimed she “danced inappropriately” on his big day.

Victoria quickly became the subject of viral memes. She even secured an iTunes number one as public support swung behind her.

The family has declined to comment to TVGuide or any other outlet, instead focusing on the job in hand.

Earlier this week, David and Victoria travelled to France with sons Romeo, Cruz, their girlfriends and Harper for a significant family moment.

Victoria was honoured with the Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture during Paris Fashion Week.
