Emmerdale has ended the week with Jimmy King dead and Dawn Fletcher still very much alive, despite reports actress Olivia Bromley was leaving and would be killed off.

But fans of the soap are not rejoicing just yet. In fact, they are pretty certain this isn’t over…

Jimmy King dead in Emmerdale

After 22 years as Jimmy King, actor Nick Miles departed the soap this week. It was the end of an era as the last remaining King brother met his maker.

He was off to set up a romantic picnic for Nicola, but then swerved off the road and into Joe and Dawn’s wedding marquee. It now turns out another vehicle was involved in Jimmy’s fatal crash. We don’t yet know who was driving that car, but Emmerdale has dropped a very big hint.

Jimmy was severely injured in the crash and after doing a makeshift vow renewal with Nicola, he passed away in her arms.

Joe Tate did not die

At the end of Thursday night’s episode (August 27) the marquee exploded. Dawn and Nicola had managed to get out, but Joe was still trapped inside.

Tonight (Friday August 28) SAS Graham ignored everyone’s warnings and rushed through the flames to save Joe. Joe had been trapped by a metal beam and had been unable to get out before the tent went up.

But Graham managed to save him and carried Joe out of the wreckage. He was taken to hospital where he was up and awake very soon afterwards.

Dawn also not dead in Emmerdale

It was Dawn who had been taking charge during the trauma. She got Nicola out and told everyone she was fine.

As Billy came to check on her, she lashed out at him, telling him he did this, it was all his fault. She then insisted on getting in the ambulance with Joe instead of getting checked out herself.

But at the hospital she started to feel contractions and went into early labour. With Joe by her side, she delivered a beautiful baby boy. He was premature, but his vitals are good and things look promising for the little one.

Joe was then taken back to his bed and Dawn apologised to Graham for knocking him out and tying him up. She told him: “This is a fresh start for us, the beginning of a new life.”

And that set alarm bells ringing!

Emmerdale fans convinced Dawn will still die

I fear we’re going to lose Dawn on Sunday,” commented one fan on social media.

Another agreed: “I started fearing for Dawn when the baby was born, like y’all need to keep watch in case that woman suddenly falls asleep.”

“I still maintain Dawn is brown bread as she looked as white as a sheet in those labour scenes,” added a third. “I will be amazed if she’s still here past Sunday.”

A fourth wrote: “Dawn has either bleeding or a unknown injury, that’s how she goes.”

“Maybe Dawn has some hidden injury or something and she dies and he’s left with the baby,” agreed a fifth.
