Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly‘s Graeme Hall admits he’s ‘got a lot on his plate’ in tonight’s show as he’s faced with two pretty ‘scary’ mutts.

Graeme has been called by desperate owners Louise and Mark, who cannot keep their dogs under control.

The couple own an antiques shop but Boxer-cross-Bassett Hounds Bernie and Walter are driving customers away.

The two-year-old brothers fly into an aggressive rage whenever shoppers arrive to have a look around.

Louise and Mark are terrified they won’t be able to make ends meet because of their pets’ wild behaviour.

Can Dogfather Graeme work his magic, or are Bernie and Walter a step too far for even him?

Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly’s Graeme Hall meets Bernie and Walter

Tonight’s episode begins with Graeme travelling to meet Louise and Mark at their converted barn. The couple rely on passing trade to sell their antiques and are open 7 days a week.

As a result, they cannot leave Bernie and Walter at home. The dogs are also at the barn with them each day.

But whenever a customer rings the bell, Bernie and Walter race outside and begin barking ferociously. Graeme experiences this for himself when he turns up and presses the doorbell.

Graeme admits: “It’s a pretty full-on experience. You hear Bernie and Walter before you see them and the sound… it don’t sound friendly.” He later says they sound “pretty scary”.

The dog trainer then witnesses a female customer arrive with her own pet dog. He realises Bernie and Walter “aren’t happy” at the sight of another pooch.

“It’s a very different sound,” Graeme says about their barks. “It’s way louder, way louder, they’re not happy to have somebody walking in. They’re probably saying a swearword and ‘go away’.”

‘They make our lives so hard’

Louise and Mark share their concerns with Graeme.

Louise tells him: “I’m worried about us needing to make more money, it’s what we need to do.” Mark adds: “Especially in this day and age with the cost of living crisis.”

Louise also admits: “I couldn’t imagine life without them. But they make our lives so hard.”

Graeme quickly observes that Bernie and Walter are actually friendly dogs. He tells Louise and Mark they are excited about new visitors, but explains: “If they’re already here with excitement, they’re going to spike out of control [when the bell rings]. It’s what we’re seeing now.”

He also comments on how the brothers’ ‘excitement can flip to aggression’ when they really get going.

“It’s not as if they can’t stand each other and are fighting all the time,” Graeme says. “But sometimes they turn on each other.”

Graeme tells viewers at home: “The two together and they fire off each other and they are stubborn dogs, which might give me a problem in training. I’ve got a lot on my plate today.”

Has Graeme bitten off more than he can chew?
