EastEnders fans ‘work out’ Max murder twist following Zoe’s shocking death scenes
Everything is gearing up for Max's big New Year episodeEastEnders fans were left absolutely devastated as Zoe Slater died at the end of last night’s episode (September 10) – but her final scenes hinted at a huge Max Branning twist.
It was already a huge week for EastEnders as Max and Cindy’s dramatic wedding day took the focus. But in the background, Zoe was working with Kat to buy back an old taxi, when things went horrifically wrong.
Stealing the taxi, Zoe fell and banged her head. Kat tried to get her to go to the hospital, but Zoe was adamant she would be fine in the morning. However, by then it was too late and Kat discovered her daughter dead in her bed.

Zoe’s heartbreaking death had a surprise Max twist
Before she died, Zoe headed downstairs for some painkillers and stumbled upon Max with Linda. The pair were talking about their love for each other, and how he doesn’t love Cindy.
Zoe was shocked, and refused to hear them out, walking away. But Linda and Max knew they needed to keep her quiet. So, Max chased her back to her room.
But Zoe began taking a turn for the worse, and Max grabbed her to stop her from running away from him. She fell onto her bed, and he immediately assumed she was drunk.
As she begged for him to not leave her, and to go get her mum, Max decided to simply walk away. And as a result, he became the last person who saw Zoe alive.
Because of their confrontation, EastEnders fans are wondering if Max is actually going to find himself at the centre of an investigation.

EastEnders fans predict murder twist
Taking to social media and Reddit, some fans theorised that the blame for Zoe’s heartbreaking death will be put onto Max.
On New Year’s Day there will be a Max-centric episode, which we saw glimpses at last year. But how we actually get to that point, still remains to fully be seen.
One fan penned: “After tonight’s episode, I believe that Max will become a suspect or blamed for her murder. His DNA will most likely be found on the banister, I felt there was one scene that really wanted us to see his hand gripping the end of the bannister before he started going up the stairs.”
Another agreed: “Max will almost certainly be part of a crime scene investigation. Why else would they make a point of having his hands on the door, bannister, and touching her face?”
A third pointed out that Kat knew Zoe fell, but could let Max take the blame: “Zoe only told Kat she fell over and hit her head. So if Kat remains the only one who knows, I could actually see her seeking revenge on Max that way.”
“It’s possible Max could be accused of murdering Zoe as his DNA will be on her wrist” another wrote.
Another EastEnders fan agreed: “The DNA would be on her bedroom door. And clearly they had her catch him and Linda for a reason. They wouldn’t have made that her final moment unless it was gonna be significant later so I think you’re right.”
Has Max just unintentionally got himself involved in a crime scene?
