Fans don't know whether to trust Serena
Emmerdale is still keeping Serena Sugden’s secret… a secret, and fans are desperate for a development to air.
Tonight in the Dales (Wednesday, July 22), Serena went on a date with Ross in a bid to get an in to Home Farm.
But, with a mysterious connection to someone looking likely, fans want answers. And, fast.
Serena’s secret in Emmerdale
Serena Sugden’s background history is remains a mystery in Emmerdale, with viewers not quite sure what they should believe.
With Serena lying to Robert about her past connection to John Sugden, fans are still sceptical of the ‘truth.’
The Emmerdale newcomer recently fessed up to Robert that killer John stayed with her family when he was on the run. It was only when he suddenly vanished that they realised that the reports on TV about him were true.
She also explained that she used to be in the police force but gave that line of work up, promising to keep Vic’s involvement in John’s death a secret.
This week, Serena was seen breaking into Home Farm and stealing a USB of Kim’s with files on the Tates on it.
The next day, she got an in with Ross and started asking questions about Jamie Tate.
She managed to return the USB down the side of the sofa, making Kim think that she just misplaced it.
Tonight, Serena reluctantly went of a date with Ross despite only using him to stay close to Home Farm. What is she hiding?
Emmerdale fans demand immediate answers over Serena secret
Emmerdale fans aren’t enjoying having to second guess everything that Serena’s doing and want answers as to what her secret is. They don’t want this to be dragged out, wondering whether she’s connected to Jamie Tate or even shortly to return character Sadie King.
One fan on X commented: “How long will it take to find out what this chick, Serena is up to?”
One person theorised: “Sooo is Serena working for A. Sadie… B They’ve said another Tate is coming …perhaps Jamie.. is she married to him?… Working with him or possibly Jean? What tangle web we weave…”
Getting frustrated with the character, one fan even told themselves that they ‘need to stop watching this rubbish,’ with another person struggling to understand Serena’s purpose in the soap: “Serena is becoming the equivalent of Jodie in Corrie… annoying and pointless.”
Emmerdale needs to reveal Serena’s secret soon or it runs the risk of frustrating viewers away from their tellies. There’s only so long a viewer can pretend to care about a character they are yet to develop a connection to. Just, what is Serena hiding? And, when will we find out?
