As Megan terminates her pregnancy, major fan theory predicts Eva will be framed by Maggie for villain’s death

Eva might be in trouble...

In tonight’s episode of Coronation Street (Thursday, April 2), it was revealed that Megan Walsh actually secretly terminated her pregnancy.

She’d made Maggie believed that her assault had caused her to lose her unborn baby when this wasn’t the case.

A new Coronation Street fan theory has now predicted that Maggie will kill Megan but Eva will end up in the frame.

Megan’s termination in Coronation Street

Things took a lively turn tonight as DS Lisa Swain popped into the pub with questions for Maggie, following Megan Walsh’s shock claim of assault. Maggie, never one to dodge a situation, openly admitted she’d paid Megan a visit at her flat and that things had got a bit heated between them. But when Lisa revealed Megan’s accusation, Maggie didn’t exactly crumble under the pressure.

Meanwhile, Megan was clearly in her feelings, pinning the loss of her baby squarely on Maggie and suggesting the alleged attack was to blame. Maggie, however, wasn’t rattled. Instead, she coolly steered the conversation in another direction, keen to get answers about the baby’s father. Megan kept tight-lipped, but it was obvious Maggie already had her suspicions firmly in place.

Later on, the mood shifted as Megan opened up in a therapy session. She was visibly emotional as she spoke about losing her baby. She shared how she’d always dreamed of having a family, especially after struggling to conceive due to PCOS. The pregnancy had felt like a rare and precious chance.

But then came the real twist. Megan admitted she hadn’t lost the baby at all – she’d chosen to end the pregnancy. Despite not being religious, she couldn’t shake the feeling she might be punished and feared she’d never get another chance to become a mum. This was all a carefully guarded secret, meant to stop anyone uncovering that teen Will was the father.

Coronation Street fan theory predicts Maggie will frame Eva for Megan death

With Maggie being very vocal about her dislike of Megan, a new Coronation Street fan theory has predicted that she might kill the grooming teacher.

Viewers will know that Maggie has killed before (namely her husband Alan). And, that Megan is a possible murder victim on April 23rd. She’s one of five potential victims shown in a recent flashforward – alongside Theo, Carl, Maggie and Jodie.

But, the theory also suggests that while Maggie could kill Megan, she might frame her own son’s wife Eva Price.

On Reddit, a fan wrote: “Eva is apparently leaving the cobbles again soon and it got me thinking: Maggie kills Megan in the Whodunit storyline, but Maggie somehow frames Eva, meaning Eva gets sent down for the murder and gives her space to leave again whilst keeping Maggie and the Ben storyline open and puts an end to the Megan storyline.”

Catherine Tyldesley is set to take a short break from filming on Corrie so that she can film her exit for The Good Ship Murder. But, could Eva’s brief exit see her behind bars for a crime she didn’t commit?

The Weakest Link is returning to BBC One with Romesh Ranganathan back at the helm

Quizzers, get ready – The Weakest Link is set to return this autumn for more tough questions and tense moments.

The iconic quiz show, made famous by Anne Robinson during its initial run between 2000 and 2012, sees contestants answer questions for cash.

However, only one player can take home the substantial cash prize after eliminating their fellow contestants.

Romesh has been hosting the show since it was revived in 2021. He promises more exciting episodes to come as the weather gets colder.

"The Weakest Link is back and better than ever with three superb specials airing next month and more from Christmas," he said. "I’m not biased when I say it's a brilliant show, and I’m looking forward to bringing more awkward pauses and tense goodbyes to Saturday nights on BBC One."

And with nine new episodes, with an additional three specials, there will be plenty for quiz fans to sink their teeth into.

Here, we take a look at the new series, as well as what we can expect this Autumn.

How does The Weakest Link work?

For the uninitiated, The Weakest Link sees eight contestants answer a series of general knowledge questions. For every correct answer, they earn cash. Each correct answer means a higher amount of money for the prize pot.

However, if a contestant gets the answer wrong, they lose any cash that has been accumulated and start again from scratch. Money only goes into the kitty if a contestant shouts 'bank' before answering their question.

The person with the most votes is eliminated.

After several rounds, the final two contestants go head-to-head to answer the most questions correctly. Whoever wins gets to take home the accumulated cash.

Who is Romesh Ranganathan?

Comedian Romesh Ranganathan, 47, has presented The Weakest Link since it returned to screens in 2021. He has featured on Sky’s sports quiz A League of Their Own, as well as guest presented on BBC's Have I Got News For You.

More recently, he hosts the BAFTA television awards, alongside fellow comedian Rob Beckett. He has hosted the ceremony, which airs on BBC One, since 2023.

What other countries does The Weakest Link air in?

A huge success when it first aired in the UK, The Weakest Link format now has several international versions. Countries such as America, France, Finland, Turkey, Cyprus, the Netherlands, Greece and Australia have also had their own edition of the show.

What are The Weakest Link's special episodes?

The charity specials, airing in October, sees Romesh watch as his fellow BBC Radio 2 hosts battle to be titled ‘The Strongest Link’ for charity.
