Trewley, 26, fronts the new Channel 4 series and aims to give viewers a sneak peek into her life.
The TikTok star is half Romani gypsy and half gorger (non-gypsy) and she finds herself stuck in the middle of both cultures.
But following the show’s debut last week, Trewley has faced a backlash.
Some members of the gypsy and traveller community have accused her of “insulting” and “embarrassing” them with her behaviour, particularly the language she uses around her mum Tina.
Others have accused Trewley of not being a true gypsy. However, she has now hit back and proved her heritage.

Ahead of The Secret Lives of Gypsy Wives’ second episode airing on Channel 4, Trewley addressed her critics on social media.
Trewley shared a selection of photographs on Instagram of her Romani gypsy ancestors. Many of the photos are black and white and they show multi-generations gathered around caravans.
They are all smiling happily, with women holding their babies while sitting around campfires. Others show the men cradling their tots while standing in grassy fields.
Another picture shows one of Trewley’s male relatives riding a horse and cart.
Trewley wrote alongside her post: “To my family I’m so sorry for how they speak on yous PLEASE FORGIVE THEM IN JESUS NAME. The Temples.”
Trewley – whose full name is Trewley-Precious Sunshine Temple Wass – has been met with a flurry of messages of support.

One follower told her: “Beautiful family, don’t listen to the hate. You deserve everything my angel.”
Another added: “Lovely family. Your photos are a wonderful way to pass down family history.”
A third said: “To be proud of your heritage is something every culture should take note xxx.”
And someone else penned: “Stop explaining yourself! You have never disrespected your culture! Like you said, you have simply just shown the way you women live!”

Episode 2 of The Secret Lives of Gypsy Wives is on at 10pm tonight (Monday July 27, 2026). The series is playing out each Monday evening on Channel 4, with six episodes in the series.
