Strictly Come Dancing's Shaun Wright-Phillips favourite to be eliminated again despite 'defying odds'
He faced the dance-off last weekendStrictly Come Dancing star Shaun Wright-Phillips remains the favourite to be voted off for a third week running.
Bookies expected the former footballer and his dance partner Alexis Warr to be the first booted off the 2026 series.
However, they were proven wrong when he avoided the bottom two and hairdresser Chris Appleton and Amy Dowden were voted off.
Last week, Shaun faced the dance-off alongside Melanie Walters and Aljaz Skorjanec and was saved by the panel of judges.
For Icons Week this weekend, Shaun and Alexis will perform a Couple’s Choice to a medley by James Brown.

Strictly Come Dancing star Shaun Wright-Phillips is still a favourite to be eliminated
Even though Shaun avoided elimination last Sunday, Betway still favours him to be out of the competition this weekend, with odds of 5/6.
However, Lewis Knowles acknowledged that he still “ps.”
Sarah Storey, who is performing a Tango to That Don’t Impress Me Much by Shania Twain, is currently second favourite to leave at 15/8. She is paired with Australian dancer Julian Caillon.
“If Shaun manages to survive yet again, she could find herself in trouble,” Lewis added.
Jaime Winstone, who landed in the bottom two during the first elimination, is next in the betting at 15/2.
“There’s still a sizeable gap between her and the top two, so it would be a shock to see her go, but it’s not impossible,” Lewis mentioned.
Partnered with last year’s winner Carlos Gu, they will dance a Paso Doble to Let’s Dance by David Bowie.
“Shaun has become one to watch, with his repeated escapes keeping everyone guessing. If he manages to pull it off again, Sarah could be the one who finds herself in the firing line next,” Lewis added.

How did Shaun perform on the leaderboard last weekend?
Out of the 14th contestants, Shaun placed last on the leaderboard. For Week 3, they performed a Quickstep to I’m A Believer.
He received two threes from judges Craig Revel Horwood and Shirley Ballas. Meanwhile, Motsi Mabuse gave a four, and Anton Du Beke only gave a five.
His total score last week was 15.
