The Vardys on ITV: 5 tone deaf moments Rebekah Vardy proved she's completely out of touch with fans as hers and Jamie's reality show launches

Public transport? Not on your Nelly.

Rebekah Vardy insists in hers and husband Jamie’s brand new reality show The Vardys they are “just a normal family”.

The WAG and Jamie have let ITV cameras into their lives as they uproot their five kids and move them from Lincolnshire to Italy.

Jamie has just left Leicester City FC and, in the first episode, is seen signing for Italian club Cremonese.

The hunt is on for Rebekah to find them a new house and schools for the children as they prepare to relocate to the Lombardy region.

But unfortunately, Rebekah drops some rather tone deaf statements in the first episode that are at serious odds with her “normal family” remark.

Oh dear, Rebekah. Here they are in case you missed them…

1. Rebekah Vardy: AKA Gym Bunny

Being married to a professional footballer has many perks. One of those is that the matriarch of the family is free to go to the gym whenever she jolly well fancies it.

There’s no 9-5 holding her back, or cleaning multiple toilets in their 12 bedroom mansion getting in the way. Nope. Becky can just wander outside to her fully-stocked, private gym that would give your local David Lloyd a run for its money.

Rebekah said in the first episode of The Vardys: “I am literally in the gym five or six times a week. I love to keep fit but it’s also good for releasing endorphins and a mental break from everything that’s going on.”

2. Not the stables?!

A big move is difficult for all children. But spare a thought for the Vardy kids, who are having to wave goodbye to their very own stables.

Thinking about what lay ahead, Rebekah sighed as she said: “Then the questions arise like, ‘Where are we going? Are we going to have to leave our schools? Are we going to have to leave our house?’

“Olivia’s first thing was, ‘Are we going to have to leave the stables?’ And then it was, ‘Are we going to have to leave the bar?’ And I’m like, why’s a five year old saying, ‘Are we going to have to leave the bar’?!”

Rebekah and Jamie’s bar is quite something, though. It wouldn’t look out of place in a swanky private members’ club.

3. House of horrors

Rebekah jets out to Italy with a male friend called Elio and begins an urgent house hunt. But the property isn’t what she had in mind.

“With no disrespect to the owner, it smelt mouldy, it looked so dark and there were things that were broken,” she complained. “I’m not being a diva but the garden looked like a graveyard.”

Rebekah added: “I love Elio and thank god he is with me, because it’s his job to stop me losing my absolute mind while Jamie is off doing football stuff.”

She then casually dropped in the rental price tag.

“How is this 13 grand a month?” Rebekah whispered  to her pal.

For those at the back, she said THIRTEEN THOUSAND POUNDS A MONTH.

4. Public transport

Four out of the five Vardy children need to enrol in school in Italy to continue with their education. But Rebekah is finding it a struggle to find places at the same school for all of them.

Speaking on the phone, an admissions officer suggests: “Taylor, the older boy, is going to high school. In my opinion the best school for Taylor is in the city. Taylor is old enough to get public transport.”

Rebekah’s eyes widened in horror. She threw her head backwards in shock, put her hands on her face and gasped: “[Bleeping] no chance!”

Recalling the lady’s suggestion to the camera, Rebekah said: “That’s just not going to happen, is it? Like, I am their transport. I am their private chauffeur, I am their taxi.”

5. Private jets and skiing

The first episode finished with Rebekah and the children flying out to Italy to visit Jamie, as the family move had not yet happened.

The gang were filmed each pulling along a giant suitcase before getting onboard their private jet. No baggage charges here, it’s not Easyjet!

Once landed, they took in the sights of their soon-to-be new surroundings as they travelled through Italy in private car.

Rebekah told Sophia: “There’s so many good things [about Italy]. And then in winter we’ll be able to ski.”

Completely normal, right?
