What happened in EastEnders tonight: Zoe's out of danger, but more shocking secrets emerge when Sharon returns next week

Exit Greg Dolan
Joel Harley

The face-off between Greg Dolan and Zoe Slater came to a head in EastEnders tonight (Thursday, September 18) as a violent confrontation took place at The Vic. With Dolan holding Kat and Zoe at knifepoint, he demanded to be paid off, while liberally sprinkling Zoe’s secrets all over the place.

Meanwhile, Denise sought help from Ravi as Jack prepared to confess to his part in the shooting. Desperate to silence Jack, Ravi rushed over to stop the cop – until both storylines violently collided. Again.

Dolan took Zoe and the Slaters hostage in EastEnders tonight

At The Vic, a hostage situation unfolded between Dolan and the Slaters. Still holding Kat at knifepoint, Dolan swapped hostages, grabbing Zoe and demanding money in exchange for her safety.

As Kat emptied the contents of the till, Dolan spilled all of Zoe’s secrets. He revealed that one of Zoe’s twins was still alive; and that he was the boy’s former neighbour.

Grabbing the cash, Dolan was about to flee when Tommy interrupted. Enraged at the lies, Dolan was about to go after Tommy when Kat distracted him with talk of the safe upstairs. Choosing to follow the money, dimwit Dolan let Tommy escape as he ushered the women upstairs.

Ravi tried to stop Jack’s confession

Meanwhile, Denise attempted to talk Jack out of confessing to Zoe. She tried to remind him of everything they had to lose if he went to prison, but Jack was set on telling his truth. After bidding a tender goodbye to Denise, he stalked off to bid the kids a goodnight.

With Jack upstairs, Denise snuck out. Finding Ravi, she asked him to hand over the gun to assuage Jack’s fears. When he refused, Denise realised that it wasn’t about the gun or criminal consequences for Ravi – he just needs the money.

Ravi made to intercept Jack, pulling a gun on the copper in the park. As it turned out, he was just going to hand it over, and genuinely seemed to want to help.

It was then that Tommy arrived, having escaped The Vic. Putting aside their vendetta, Ravi and Jack rushed over to the pub.

Inside, a vicious confrontation ensued. As Kat pulled a butter knife on Dolan, a fight broke out, and he attempted to attack Stacey. He was just about to strike when Kat clobbered him over the head with a cricket bat, knocking him unconscious.

With Dolan knocked out, they let Ravi and Jack inside… revealing their theory that he’d been the one who ‘shot’ Joel. Spotting an opportunity, Jack planted the gun on Dolan for the police to find.

Problem solved. No more gun, no more blackmail, no need to confess. Meanwhile, in The Vic, Zoe shared a heart-to-heart with her mum. And, as Zoe explained her search for her missing son, Kat reassured her that she’d help in any way she could to find her boy.

The Night Manager's Noah Jupe: From child star to huge film roles, famous British parents, and link to Sadie Sink

Noah Jupe returns as Daniel 'Danny' Roper in The Night Manager this New Year, and it's yet another huge role for the actor who has already racked up multiple top-tier film and TV performances.

He's only 20, but has been on our screens since 2005, when he was just 10 years old. That cute boy in A Quiet Place? Yep, that was Noah. And he already has the CV most budding actors dream of.

One might argue there's a touch of nepotism here, as both Noah's parents are in showbusiness. But as nepo-babies go, he's definitely got the talent, too.

Here's everything you need to know about young actor Noah Jupe, who plays Danny Roper in The Night Manager series 2.

Noah Jupe returns as Danny Roper on The Night Manager

As The Night Manager returns with a series 2, so do some of the original cast including Noah Jupe. The actor was just 11 when he portrayed Daniel 'Danny' Roper in the first series of the acclaimed crime drama in 2016. It was arguably the role that catapulted him into the limelight.

The character of Danmy was a central role. He was the son of arch-villain arms dealer Richard Roper, who met a (well deserved) sticky end in The Night Manager series 1 finale.

In the second series, viewers meet Danny back in the UK as a young man. His dad is dead, and Danny Dannyhas gone through some dramatic changes.

Talking about his character in The Night Manager series 2, Noah explains: "Daniel has this constant question looming over him [about his dad] and a shadow of grief that has taken its toll. He's negative and cynical and having a tough time growing up and trying to work out who he is, due to the absence of his father."

Noah Jupe 'owes a lot of his career to The Night Manager'

Talking about stepping back into the shoes of his character after nine years, he added: "It's a dream and has been so much fun. Season one was one of my earliest memories of being on a set, and I owe a lot of my career to The Night Manager. So to come back and step into the shoes of Danny again is an absolute gift. I was chuffed about it."

Describing his working relationship with leading man Tom Hiddleston, Noah said: "Tom is such a special actor. I really looked up to him, and still do – both mentally and physically (he's a tall guy.) It has been a pleasure to work with Tom again."

Why is The Night Manager star Noah Jupe so famous?

Noah Jupe has been on our screens since he was 10 years old, and has been in some of the decades biggest and most successful TV series and films.

His very first TV appearance was playing Charles Chandler in one episode of the TV series Penny Dreadful in 2015. He went on to William in the 2015 film A Song for Jenny starring Emily Watson. The film followed a woman desperately searching for her missing daughter in the aftermath of the July 7, 2005, bombings in London.

After a brief appearance in Downton Abbey in 2015, Noah won the role of Daniel Roper in The Night Manager. The series was easily one of the standout shows of the year, preceding The White Lotus as a glamorous crime drama with an exotic backdrop.

The same year, Noah played Kingsley Conan Doyle in the mini series Houdini and Doyle. The actor subsequently went on to appear in the films The Last Dragonslayer, The Man with the Iron Heart, That Good Night, Suburbicon, Wonder, My Pretty Pony, and The Titan.

In 2018, he won the huge role of Marcus Abbott in A Quiet Place (more on that below). He went on to appear opposite Hugh Grant in TV thriller The Undoing, and played Temple Franklin in Franklin, and Seth Schwartz in The Lake. Appearing opposite Nicole Kidman, Michael Douglas, Emily Blunt, and Natalie Portman before the age of 20? Well played, Noah!

Is Noah Jupe the boy in A Quiet Place?

In 2018, he won the huge role of Marcus Abbott in A Quiet Place. One of the best horror films ever released, fact. He subsequently appeared in the much-anticipated sequel 2020 sequel A Quiet Place Part II.

Noah starred as Emily Blunt and John Krasinski's son, who had the often impossible task of keeping his baby sister quiet to stop her getting annihilated by aliens. Nobody does wide-eyed terror quite like Noah Jupe's character Marcus.

Since his role in A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place II, Noah has appeared in multiple other films including Holmes & Watson, Honey Boy – where he led the cast as a young Shia LaBeouf – Le Mans '66, No Sudden Move, and Dreamin' Wild.

If none of that's rock 'n' roll enough for you, he appeared in the Ian Brown music video From Chaos to Harmony in 2019.

What is The Night Manager actor Noah Jupe doing now?

There's no stopping Noah Jupe as in 2025 he appeared in three films, one of them already tipped for awards season.

Noah portrayed Andy Dyer in & Sons, The Boy in Nick Cage movie The Carpenter's Son, and Hamlet in Hamnet. It's the latter that has had critics raving this year.

Based on the book by Maggie O'Farrell, the story reimagines William Shakespeare's relationship with his wife after losing their son Hamnet to plague. Hamlet is another son, who is the inspiration for Shakespeare's famous play of the same name.

Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal play Noah's parents Agnes and Will. The film has been tipped for Oscar-success and reviewers have called it "moving", "sublime", and "devastating".

In 2026, Noah is filming the upcoming TV series Engleby, as well as the films Morning, Play Dead, Psyche, and The Death of Robin Hood.

Noah Jupe as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet

In 2026, Noah will also appear as Romeo in the West End production of Romeo and Juliet, alongside Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink as Juliet.

The play will run from March to June 2026 at London's Harold Pinter Theatre. It will be Noah's stage debut after a decade on screen. See the trailer below.

Speaking about the upcoming play, Noah said: "Theatre is something I've always been intrigued by. It seems like such a challenging and rewarding experience for an actor. So I was very excited to hear about this project. The combination of Romeo, [director] Rob Icke, and Sadie is an opportunity you simply cannot turn down."

Is Jacobi Jupe related to Noah Jupe?

Yes, Jacobi Jupe is Noah's younger brother and is also forging an impressive career as an actor. Jacobi also appears in the film Hamnet as the ill-fated title character.

Jacobi, currently 12, played Cyrus in the final series of Britannia in 2021. He went on to play a young Tom in the 2023 period drama Tom Jones, before portraying Michael Darling in the film Peter Pan & Wendy.

In 2024, Jacobi appeared as troubled Noah in the Billy Crystal AppleTV+ series Before.

What is Noah Jupe's real name?

Noah Jupe was actually born Noah Casford Jupe. Yep, we haven't heard of that middle name either! Casford is traditionally a surname.

As is usual, Noah took the name of his father Chris Jupe. His mother Katy Cavanagh is known by her maiden name, but also goes by Katy Cavanagh-Jupe these days.

Who are Noah Jupe's famous parents? Is he a nepo-baby?

Noah Jupe has parents in the 'biz. His dad is filmmaker Chris Jupe. He worked on the production team of Noel Fielding comedy The Mighty Boosh, and as executive producer on son Noah's film & Sons.

He's also the producer of Noah's upcoming film Psyche, which was written by mum Katy Cavanagh-Jupe! It's her first big project as a writer, and follows a backpacker who gets entangled in unauthorised archaeological excavations and accidentally discovers an extraordinary treasure...

Noah's mum Katy is best known as an actress. She played Julie Carp in ITV soap Coronation Street between

Katy is also known for popping up in episodes of Not Going Out, Midsomer Murders, Moving On, Doctors, and Birds of a Feather. Other notable roles include Kelly in Burn It, Anita Kendrick in Bob & Rose, and Mel in The Cops.

Chris and Katy have three children – Noah, daughter Jemima in the middle, and Jacobi is the youngest.

Who is his girlfriend?

Noah Jupe has not spoken publicly about having a girlfriend, although he has been linked to a 21-year-old actress.

Noah and actress Nico Parker from The Last of Us were spotted hanging out together in London in 2023. Of course Nico Parker is also a so-called nepo-baby, having actress Thandie Newton as a mum, and director Ol Parker as a dad.

The sighting subsequently sparked plenty of speculation about the nature of their relationship. Neither of them confirmed or denied, and it's just as likely that they're friends.

Where is The Night Manager star Noah Jupe from, and how old is he?

Noah Jupe was born on February 25, 2005, in London's Islington.

That makes him currently 20 years of age.
