As Eve's mum Norma arrives in Walford, here's where you might have seen actress Jessica Turner before

Eve’s mother Norma arrived in EastEnders tonight (Monday, November 3) as plans for the adoption progressed. Eve and Suki have decided to adopt after reconciling their marriage (overlooking the whole ridiculous granddaughter surrogacy affair), even meeting with the agency last week.

In doing so, Eve learned that she would need a reference from her mother in order to proceed. This was worrying news for Eve, who hasn’t always had the best relationship with her parents.

Regardless, she’s reached out to Norma, who arrived in Walford today.

But did you recognise Eve’s mother from somewhere?

Who plays Eve’s mother in EastEnders?

Norma is played by actress Jessica Turner, who was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, in 1953. Coming from a family of actors, Jessica attended The Central School of Speech and Drama in London – as her mother and father did, before her.

It was while studying here that she met her own husband, echoing her parents’ relationship.

What else has Jessica Turner been in?

Jessica has a lengthy history in stage, television, movies and radio. IMDb lists her screen debut as the 1977 television series Out of the Past, which she followed with appearances in hit sitcom Terry and June, crime drama Prime Suspect (where she played DI Tennison’s sister), The Bill, and Spooks.

In more recent years, she has appeared in episodes of the Radio 4 drama The Archers and TV murder mystery Father Brown.

Eve makes a shocking decision as Norma turns on her daughter in EastEnders this week

Norma will continue to stir up trouble for Eve and Suki this week, when she casts aspersions on her daughter’s abilities as a parent. Rattled by her mother’s unkind words, Eve begins to doubt whether adoption really is right for her and Suki.

The next day, an upset Eve tells Suki that she doesn’t want to go ahead with adopting. Growing desperate, Suki turns to Lily for help.

Has Norma ruined everything for Suki and Eve?
