Since joining the soap in 2023, Colin has been open about how he took the role so as to be close to wife Fiona Hawthorne, who had been diagnosed with a rare condition called interstitial lung disease. This makes it difficult for oxygen to enter her system, and requires an oxygen tank. She was also put on steroids and received chemotherapy for the condition. Appearing on Good Morning Britain last week, the George Knight star revealed that Fiona had undergone surgery and is ‘well.’ He also shared that they’d bought a house in America – which led to some speculation as to the future of Colin’s career in the UK.
