The actress, who played Max’s most well-known wife, last appeared in Walford in 2018, for screen daughter Abi’s funeral. Tanya’s been keeping a low profile since then, having departed to Exeter with surviving son Oscar and mum Cora. An all-grown up Oscar returned to Walford earlier this year after essentially being disowned by Tanya, where he now remains, along with sister Lauren. Ex-husband Max, meanwhile, is also set to return after striking up a fiery romance with Zoe Slater. So where does this leave Tanya? Will Jo Joyner return to EastEnders? Some are still convinced that Tanya could return (Credit: BBC/YouTube) Soap expert predicts Tanya Branning return Meanwhile, a soap expert for Gambling.com, who specialise in comparing and ranking online gambling sites, has predicted that Tanya might be back before the end of the year. Tallying up all the potential returns ahead of this Christmas, entertainment expert James Leyfield put chances of a Tanya Comeback at 73.3%. As such, Tanya tops the list, ahead of other potential returnees including Roxy Mitchell, Clare Bates and both Little Mo and Sean Slater. Meanwhile, EastEnders Executive Producer Ben Wadey has teased that this year’s Christmas special will involve drama from soap ‘past, present and future.’ Could Tanya be part of that past?
