As Vicki's attack sends shockwaves around the Square, remembering Trevor Morgan's vile abuse of Little Mo

Trevor was one of the soap's nastiest villains

The residents of Albert Square are left shocked in EastEnders tonight (Monday, October 13) as news of Joel’s attack on Vicki spreads around Walford – reminding some of Trevor Morgan’s vicious abuse of his wife, Little Mo Slater.

As tonight’s episode begins, Joel turns to Tommy for help, realising that he needs to lay low for a while. Tommy agrees, although hearing that Joel has struck Vicki (to put it midly) gives him cause for concern.

Sensing Tommy’s unease, Zoe gets involved – and talk soon turns to her aunt, Little Mo Slater. But what happened between Trevor and Mo?

Trevor Morgan and his abuse of Little Mo

Trevor first arrived in Albert Square in the year 2000, as he celebrated Christmas with wife Little Mo and her family. It soon became clear that the pair shared a troubled history, having recently separated due to Trevor’s violence toward his wife.

The pair reconciled, but it didn’t take long before Trevor resumed the cycle of abuse. After moving to Albert Square full-time with Mo, he began to attack Mo with increasing regularity and intensity.

Trevor’s abuse also included his attempts to isolate her from her family, including worried sister Kat and dad Charlie. Trevor’s behaviour worsened as the truth about Zoe being Kat’s daughter emerged. Infuriated at the Slaters keeping him in the dark, Trevor bullied Mo into telling him what had happened .

Later, After learning that Mo was helping sister Lynn celebrate her wedding – something she’d promised not to do – Trevor raped her as ‘punishment.’ His abuse continued over Christmas in 2001, pushing her face into a plate of dinner when she returned home late, and beating her up after she learned she’d been taking contraceptive pills.

Soon after, Mo decided to leave Trevor. After failing to win her back, Trevor turned violent again. And, as he attempted to rape Mo, she lashed out in self-defence, striking him over the head with an iron and subsequently leaving him for dead.

What happened to Trevor on EastEnders?

Trevor survived Mo’s attack though, and reported her to the police. Police charged Mo with attempted murder, and a court sentenced her to eight years in prison.

With Mo behind bars, Mo turned violent towards his mistress, Donna Andrews, who bore his baby son. Trevor attacked his sister-in-law as she cared for baby Sean, pushing her to the ground.

The police arrested Trevor for this – although Kat dropped the charges, in exchange for him retracting his statement against Mo. With Mo free, Trevor resumed his vendetta, attempting to win her back from love rival Billy – who Mo had begun dating.

Trevor’s campaign of violence finally ended in 2002, when he attempted to kill Mo and Sean in a house fire. However, Mo and Sean survived from the ensuing blaze, which killed Trevor (along with neighbour Tom Banks) when the house exploded.
