But while Alfie is thrilled – if a little miffed – to see him after all these years, he’s also left wondering what happened to Danny Moon. Jake has made his comeback to Walford, looking for answers about what happened when Anthony was killed on Christmas Day. He is trying to work out Chrissie’s involvement in the whole thing, and isn’t back for a family reunion. However, Kat tracked Jake down to pressure him into helping them find Jasmine. At first, Jake didn’t want to know, but Kat made up a sob story about Alfie being unwell, and he had no choice but to return to Albert Square. Alfie was understandably thrilled to see Jake, but also had questions. Not only did he want to know why his cousin let everyone believe he had been dead for the last twenty years, but he also asked after Jake’s brother, Danny. Soap fans will know that Danny was Jake’s younger brother. The siblings both found themselves caught up with gangster Johnny Allen during their time on the show between 2004 and 2006, which led to all manner of drama. Danny had a troubled life of crime while working for crime boss Johnny. Not only did he set fire to Johnny Allen’s house in a bid to make his boss take him seriously, but he also killed Dennis Rickman in 2005 at Johnny’s order. When Johnny then ordered Danny to kill the Mitchells, Danny went to shoot Grant. However, he was stopped when Jake appeared and shot him instead. Despite going to the woods to save his brother from doing something stupid, Jake accidentally killed his brother instead. Jake had only meant to shoot Danny in the arm or leg to save the Mitchell Brothers, and he has had to live with his guilt ever since.
