With Sharon keen to find the long-lost son of Dennis Rickman, she decided to pay Jada a visit – thereby scoring some much-needed DNA evidence from granddaughter Alyssa. Zoe’s lying, of course, making Dennis’s DNA a moot point. And, with Kat struggling under the weight of Zoe’s secret, it’s not long before the other shoe drops. But who was Jada Lennox? And how is Alyssa related to Dennis? Teenage Jada gave birth to Sharon’s granddaughter (Credit: BBC) Who was Jada Lennox on EastEnders? Jada was a close friend of teenage Dennis Rickman Jr. – aka, Denny. This very close friendship resulted in Jada falling pregnant at only fourteen years old. Denny died before she could tell him about the pregnancy and, once she’d given birth, desperate Jada dumped baby Alyssa on Sharon’s doorstep. Later that year, she began to have second thoughts, and revealed the truth about the baby to a shocked Sharon and Zack. During the ensuing custody battle, Jada stole Alyssa back, taking her on the run away from Walford. Jada had second thoughts about giving up baby Alyssa (Credit: BBC) Where is Jada now? Jada left Walford in late 2022, after being blackmailed by Janine Butcher in her plot to frame Linda Carter in front of social services. She briefly returned at Christmas, just long enough for the truth about Janine to come out – leading to Mick getting lost at sea during the subsequent fallout. This isn’t the first time Sharon has been to stay with Jada. Earlier this year, she went to stay with Jada and Alyssa in the aftermath of Martin’s death, where she sought respite from her grief. Jada was played by actress Kelsey Calladine-Smith. Prior to her stint in EastEnders, Kelsey appeared in nine episodes of the children’s fantasy drama (and Harry Potter progenitor) The Worst Witch.
