Jasmine Fisher Max Branning Oscar Branning Share By Claire Crick Jan 20 2026 By Claire Crick Jan 20 2026 Jasmine Fisher set out to ruin Max Branning in EastEnders tonight (Tuesday, January 20) in a bid to cover her own murderous secret. As Max started getting closer to the truth, she put him firmly in the frame. A classic move to make sure all eyes were on him, instead of her. The fallout started when Max discovered his son Oscar was planning to leave Walford with Jasmine. Knowing that there was something suspicious about the fact that she wanted to skip town so suddenly (likely from his own experience of doing the same thing!) Max tried to put the brakes on the plan. But Jasmine wasn’t happy when Max got too close to the truth, and caused drama when she dropped the mother of all bombshells. Here’s everything that happened in EastEnders tonight… and what happens next. Max works out that Jasmine is hiding something in EastEnders (Credit: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) EastEnders: Max crosses Jasmine Oscar didn’t take kindly to his dad’s meddling in his plans with Jasmine. Instead, he decided that maybe a trip to Thailand was exactly what he needed. Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers The only problem was that Oscar didn’t realise that this wasn’t a normal holiday and that Jasmine was planning a one-way trip. As Max overheard Jasmine arguing with her adoptive mum on the phone about plane tickets, he realised she wasn’t planning to come back to Walford. He told Oscar that Jasmie had been lying to him, and a huge argument erupted in the middle of the Square. Max is shocked when Jasmine frames him in EastEnders (Credit: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Cindy gets her claws in It wasn’t long before Cindy was also giving Max a few home truths about Jasmine. She told him that she pushed her down the stairs last year, and that she is nothing but trouble. With Cindy’s words ringing in his ears, Max knew he had to act fast. But a heart-to-heart with Oscar didn’t do much to help. When Max warned his son that Jasmine was only going to break his heart, Oscar admitted he loved her and thought she was worth the risk. At a loss over what to do, Max confronted Jasmine once again, but this time things ended badly. Very badly. Max asked Jasmine what she was hiding, and knowing he was getting closer to the truth, Jasmine lashed out. She threw him against the wall, leaving him shocked by her violence. But Oscar and Kat heard the commotion and instantly assumed Max had done something to hurt Jasmine. Before Max could regain his composure, Jasmine thought fast and lied that Max had tried to kiss her. With the reputation Max has, it is going to be a miracle if he can talk his way out of this one. The drama continues tomorrow Tomorrow’s EastEnders will see the fallout of Jasmine’s accusations continue. As Max protests his innocence, will anyone believe him? It won’t take long for word to spread around the Square, and Max will soon find it hard to get people to believe he’s done nothing wrong for once. Oscar and Kat struggle to get their heads around what they have been told. But will Jasmine be able to go under the radar as usual? What else happened in EastEnders tonight? While Jasmine dropped her bombshell on Max, there was more drama unfolding across the Square as Nugget left the house for the first time since his attack. There was trouble for Elaine as she was forced to use dirty tactics to get around drama with the council. Phil was also celebrating his birthday and George found himself in a tricky spot when Nicola asked him out on another date. Here's everything else that happened in EastEnders tonight... Nugget had a panic attack After recovering from being violently attacked, Nugget was understandably nervous about leaving the house. But after some words of encouragement from his family, he went to meet Denzel in the Square. However, memories of the night he was beaten haunted him, and he started having a panic attack. Luckily, Denzel was on hand to help - but it looks like Nugget's road to recovery is going to take much longer than he thought. Sam told Ricky the truth It was Phil's 65th birthday, but while the rest of his family threw him a surprise party, Sam completely forgot. Ricky was annoyed that his mum didn't seem to care, and her claims that she had a lot on her mind didn't help. Eventaully Sam confessed the truth about her cancer to Ricky after some sage advice from George. The teen took the news like a grown-up and told his mum he would be there by her side when she had the surgery later in the week. Elaine fought dirty Elaine was less than impressed when Councillor Barker arrived at Peacock Palace following Ian Beale's complaint about her new sign for the B&B... sorry, boutique hotel. But not one to backdown, Elaine got the gossip on Councillor Barker from Honey. She told her all about the naughty photos he sent to Ruby Allen, claiming it wasn't the first time, or the last. Using this to her advantage, she tried to get him to back down. However, the whole thing backfired when he produced her dodgy paperwork for planning permission, and the pair came to a stalemate.
