As the rift grew between Zoe and the Slaters, she lashed out at those around her, leaving The Vic. In doing so, she played right into Anthony’s hands, seeking refuge at his place in the aftermath. This came as Howie learned the dark secret Anthony’s been hiding – his wife is taking out a restraining order against him, claiming he’s a ‘danger’ to women. Both men agreed not to tattle on the other… but how long can they keep their secrets buried? Here’s everything that happened in EastEnders tonight. Zoe made quite the scene before leaving (Credit: BBC) Zoe left The Vic as war between the Slaters escalated Faced with evidence that Tommy had been behind her stalking, Zoe continued to accuse her brother. As he continued to deny being responsible, Tommy managed to explain away his shady behaviour earlier in the day – he’d been learning lines for Nigel’s film, in an attempt to change the locals’ perception of him. Jean admitted that she’d been behind the lights, but had nothing to do with the Christmas card, or the rest of it. At the party, Jean began spiralling, between Harry and Kojo’s dour faces, and the horrible cake, and excused herself from the room. Furious at hearing how she’d planted the packaging in Tommy’s bag, Lily insisted that Jean come clean. Zoe, meanwhile, had found someone else to accuse – Vicki, who she tried to bar from The Vic. Taking Zoe and the rest of the family upstairs, Kat tried to mend relations between her and the rest of family. Realising how Zoe’s behaviour had been tearing the family apart, Kat came to the decision that Zoe had to leave. As Zoe packed her bags, Lily took Jean aside and confronted her over her lack of a confession. Jean had her fingers crossed the whole time though, and never intended to confess. She just needed to get through Freddie’s leaving party, she insisted, and then she’d be fine. And, after a dramatic speech, Zoe departed The Vic. And to where? Back to kindly Doctor Anthony, of course, who was more than happy to take her in – issuing a sinister smile behind her back. Anthony got what he wanted (Credit: BBC) Anthony Trueman’s dark secret revealed in EastEnders tonight At Harry’s Barn, Kim and the family gathered to celebrate the engagement. Howie, however, was in for a shock when Anthony accused him of stealing the engagement ring from Penny. Setting forth an ultimatum, he demanded that Howie come clean to Kim, else he’d do it for him. In an attempt to cover his tracks, Howie told Kim that the ring was a fake, and wanted to take it back so he could get her a ‘real’ one. No dice. So Howie decided to take a different tack, finagling the number of Anthony’s wife from Patrick. After a conversation with the woman herself – Sophie – Howie learned that she was trying to take out a restraining order against Anthony. He confronted Anthony with what he’d learned. Anthony insisted that Sophie was lying about him being a ‘danger’ to women, but the issue of the restraining order remained – and the two men found themselves at a stalemate. Family dramas overshadowed Freddie and Anna’s departure from Walford (Credit: BBC) Goodbye Freddie and Anna As the residents gathered to bid a fond farewell to Freddie and Anna, she was determined to build bridges between Harry and her family. She headed across the street to see Harry, who was still feeling the effects of his addiction… and the drugs he’d used to feed it. Anna told Harry that Gina still had feelings for him, as did neglected pal Kojo. The real barrier though, was George, and Anna begged her dad to consider forgiving Harry. Goodbyes bid, Freddie and Anna departed Walford for pastures new.
