As Jasmine's brother makes his debut, here's everything we know about Josh and whether he could save Jasmine from prison

The wait is finally over...

The moment that fans have been waiting for finally arrived in today’s EastEnders as Jasmine’s twin brother, Josh, was officially introduced. There has been plenty of talk about Josh’s arrival, but no one could have predicted the way he would make his debut.

As Max pondered what to do with Jasmine’s phone after he stole it from The Vic, it seemed he might do the right thing and hand it in to the police.

He even told Oscar that he might have been a bit harsh on Jasmine. Little did Oscar know that his dad’s change of heart was all down to the fact that he had watched the violent video on Jasmine’s phone.

But eventually, the decision of what to do with the evidence was taken out of Max’s hands.

Cindy took matters into her own hands

After Max had a drink with Zoe in The Albert and realised how deeply she wanted to get Jamsine out of jail, Max had pretty much made up his mind to do the right thing.

However, Cindy worked out that Max had the phone after he slipped up.

After revealing details of Anthony’s murder that weren’t in the newspaper, Cindy quickly realised that Max must have seen the video. He asked her for advice on what to do, and she instantly said he needed to destroy it.

Max didn’t seem convinced, so later Cindy broke into his room at the B&B and took the phone for herself.

Max found the phone missing

Knowing that he needed to hand it in, Max went to get the phone, only to find it gone. It didn’t take long to work out who had taken it, and he confronted Cindy.

He demanded it back, but she claimed she’d got rid of it – something he should have done days ago.

Max left in a huff… only for Cindy to get the phone out and watch the video herself.

Cindy knew that if she wanted Jasmine to pay for pushing her down the stairs, she needed to destroy the phone. But just as she was about to smash it with her shoe, the phone rang.

While it wasn’t a number Cindy recognised, curiosity got the better of her. She answered – only to hear Jasmine’s twin brother Josh on the other end of the phone.

But what does Josh want with Jasmine, and can he save her from prison?

EastEnders: What we know about Josh so far…

Details surrounding the character have been kept tightly under wraps. However, actor Joshua Vaughan was credited as Jasmine’s brother, Josh Goodwin, at the end of today’s episode. Joshua was reported to be joining the cast earlier this year.

Jasmine spoke of her brother to Oscar in January. She opened up about her past and her relationship with her twin brother, saying, “There was my brother, but we got separated”.

This seems to suggest that she did know her brother growing up, but somehow they lost touch over time. Separated in the foster/adoption system, perhaps?

Fans have already predicted romance between Oscar and Josh, causing a love triangle storyline.

“Oscar is clearly with the brother in the New Year’s flash forward episode,” said one fan. This was in reference to Oscar’s scene with Patrick in the flashforward episode, in which he spoke of Oscar’s romance at the time.

What else happened in EastEnders tonight?

As well as Josh calling Jasmine's phone and stunning Cindy, Sam had a change of heart about leaving.

Things were also looking up for Harry as he moved back in with Kojo and reunited with Gina.

Elsewhere, Callum was shocked by a message from Ben...

Sam decided to stay in Walford

Sam was all packed and ready to head back to Spain, where she was going to undergo radiotherapy as part of the breast cancer treatment.

However, after a heart-to-heart with Lily about family on the anniversary of Martin's death, Sam changed her mind and decided to stay.

Moving day for Harry and Kojo

As Harry nervously got ready for his move, Kojo couldn't wait to get his independence back. Harry promised George that he would look after Kojo, and soon the pair got Gina and Penny to help with all the boxes.

Later, Penny suggested Harry could buy them all a drink to say thank you, but accidentally put her foot in it by mentioning Harry's lothario ways.

Harry was fuming, trying to make a good impression on Gina. So Penny gave him some tips on how to win her back.

Harry and Gina reunited

With Penny's advice ringing in his ears, Harry bought Gina a belated birthday present. Gina was over the moon with the necklace, and the pair shared a kiss, finally reuniting after months apart.

Callum got a message from Ben

Callum and Johnny eventually made up after the big fight over Tim the day before. But the peace didn't last long.

Callum was shocked when a stranger approached him on the Square, claiming to have a message from Ben. He told Callum that there was a USB at an address that Ben needed moving, or he would be facing an additional 10 years in jail.

Will Callum help Ben?
