Is Zoe leaving EastEnders? All you need to know as she confesses to killing Anthony

Zoe Slater confessed to killing Anthony Trueman in EastEnders last night (Thursday, December 25), as a series of dramatic confrontations took place in The Queen Vic.

First, after it was revealed that Anthony had lied about Zoe’s twins, he confronted her, and things turned violent.

When push came to shove, she hit his head against a wall before he knocked her unconscious.

Then, as protective Kat leapt to action, Chrissie chose her moment to strike, revealing that she’d been working with Jasmine as her tormentor.

Here’s what happened in EastEnders tonight… and all we know that happens next.

Chrissie confronted Zoe as Anthony was killed in EastEnders tonight

As the episode began, Kat was trying her best to support an antsy Zoe. She was about to break the news that both Zoe’s twins were dead when Chelsea arrived, and informed them of Anthony’s lies.

Kat and Zoe publicly confronted Anthony, to Patrick and the Truemans’ horror. After trying to explain himself to his dad, Anthony returned to The Vic, where Zoe told him that she was waiting to meet with their son.

As things turned ugly, he came at her. She reacted by pushing him away, causing Anthony to hit his head. He struck her in return, knocking Zoe unconscious.

Soon after, Kat arrived upstairs, where she found Zoe unconscious and Anthony dead.

The drama wasn’t over yet though! After emptying the pub, Kat was shocked by the arrival of Chrissie and Jasmine, who revealed that they had been behind all of Zoe’s pain.

As a terrible confrontation took place, Sam arrived to back up Kat and Zoe, causing Jasmine to have doubts about her partnership with Chrissie.

Chaos unleashed, Chrissie sauntered off into the night.

And, as Zoe shared a moment with Jasmine, she realised what she had to do… handing herself into the police as they arrived on Albert Square.

But did Zoe kill Anthony? And is this the end of her return?

What happens next as Zoe handed herself into the police

As the soap continues in EastEnders spoilers for tonight (Friday, December 26), the police attempt to make sense of what’s happened.

Neither the BBC nor actress Michelle Ryan have said whether Zoe will go down for Anthony’s murder… but we’d imagine there’s still plenty’s more drama to come.

And, with her son still out there, many questions remain unanswered.

What does the future hold for Zoe? And what else does Chrissie have planned for her rival?
