As Julie tries to cover up his hit-and-run, guilty Nigel confesses to Jack tomorrow

Julie covered for Nigel
Joel Harley

Julie attempted to cover up Nigel’s hit-and-run in EastEnders tonight (Tuesday, October 21), as Jasmine and Gina were rushed to hospital. Nigel ploughed Jasmine down in last night’s episode of the soap, with Gina also becoming injured after being pushed out of the way.

As the story continued tonight, Nigel was in shock at what he’d done, and called Julie for help. Rushing Nigel home, Julie then attempted to cover up his part in the crime – first swearing Jean to silence, then lying to her husband that she’d been behind the wheel instead.

But, as Nigel grows suspicious, it’s not long before he goes running to resident copper Jack in tomorrow night’s episode.

Here’s what happened on EastEnders tonight – and what happened next.

The aftermath of Nigel’s crash revealed in EastEnders tonight

In the wake of the crash, a shocked Nigel looked out on what he’d done. Thankfully, Jasmine managed to regain consciousness long enough to try and call an ambulance. As a shell-shocked Nigel climbed out of his car, he found Gina still unconscious and Jasmine begging for help.

Unfortunately, he managed to do more harm than good. Prodding Jasmine with his foot (and getting blood on his shoe) as he turned her over.  Before she passed out again, Jasmine offered a curious insight as to her true motives.

“She’s ruined everything. She needs to pay for what she did,” she said, before losing consciousness again.

With Jasmine once again unconscious, Nigel answered a call from Julie. Rushing over she was horrified to see Jasmine and Gina unconscious next to his still-running car. Grabbing the keys, she hustled Nigel away, leaving the car at the scene of the crime while the ambulance pulled up.

George arrived to find the paramedics tending to a now-conscious Gina. Oscar wasn’t far behind, and was shocked to see Jasmine also in a state.

Back home, Julie helped Nigel clean up after the accident. Noticing the blood on his footwear, she disposed of Nigel’s shoes as she tried to get him settled again. She returned to the scene of the crime, where the residents of Walford were crawling all over the place.

Julie couldn’t keep Nigel’s secret for long though, and broke down at Jean’s incessant prodding and poking.

Oscar questioned Jasmine’s past as Julie lied to Nigel

Back home, Julie continued to blame herself for what had happened. Jean, while sympathetic, insisted that she tell the police what Nigel had done. Still, Julie was successful in swearing her to silence, in spite of Jean’s qualms.

Meanwhile, full of regret over his ‘idiotic’ behaviour earlier, Oscar accompanied George to the hospital. As Oscar watched over his unconscious friend, he questioned the hospital staff over whether Jamsine’s family had been informed.

Yes, they’d told Jasmine’s mum – but Jasmine had apparently told her not to bother making the trip. What exactly is Jasmine hiding? And could the Jackie Ford rumours be true?

Back in Walford, Julie found that Nigel was already beginning to forget the details of the crash. Lying to Nigel, she told him that she’d been driving – and that she was the one who crashed the car.

Will he believe her lies?

Nigel confesses to Jack

Nigel continues to question his part in the crash in EastEnders spoilers for tomorrow (Wednesday, October 22). Julie keeps up the lie that she had been driving, but Nigel isn’t buying it.

And, as he becomes convinced that he was responsible for the accident, Nigel confesses to Jack.

How will Jack react to Nigel’s news?

What else happened in EastEnders tonight?

As the aftermath of Nigel's accident unfolded outside, another (more metaphorical) car crash was unfolding inside Kojo's flat. Furious at Harry for telling Kojo to flee, Okie tried to force him to get his friend back in hand.

Harry, however was having none of it. And, as Okie tried to cover his tracks, he only succeeded in making Teddy more suspicious.

Elsewhere, Elaine and Johnny met with his old university chum, while Zoe gave Tommy a pep-talk. Kat was happy to see Zoe bonding with her little brother, but less impressed when she realised that Zoe had stolen money from under her very nose.

Here's what else happened in EastEnders tonight.

Teddy grew suspicious about missing Harry

Following Harry's call to Kojo, an angry Okie demanded that he call his friend back and get him to return to his handlers. Not even the promise of drugs could get Harry on side, and he reassured Okie that his dad would come looking for him once Kojo re-emerged.

Okie, however, wasn't worried about that - he'd been texting Teddy on Harry's phone, keeping the Cardiff lie going. But, as Teddy returned from a lad's night out with Billy, Barney and Will, he grew suspicious at 'Harry's' latest text - noticing that 'Harry' had spelled his own brother's name wrong.

Back home, he explained to Billy how Harry was in trouble with some bad people. Billy tried to reassure him that Harry was probably fine, but Teddy wasn't buying it.

At the flat, Harry struggled with his withdrawal. "Kojo's the only reason you're still alive," Okie told him. "The minute I find him, you're a dead man."

Will Okie follow through on his threat?

Flashy Tim wowed Elaine and Johnny

In the pub, Johnny met with his old client and university pal, Tim. Flashy Tim impressed Johnny and Elaine with his sharp suit and champers, revealing how he'd been encouraged by Johnny's advice to make something of himself.

Zoe was pretty keen too, flirting at the bar as she poured him a free shot. Arriving on the scene with news of Gina's accident, Callum was shocked - and slightly jealous - to find suave Tim rubbing shoulders with Johnny.

Is Tim too good to be true?

Zoe stole from The Vic

Tommy was still in a mood. Explaining how he'd been 'cancelled' by his classmates, he revealed that he had no intention of going back to school. As he wallowed in his misery, a pep talk from Zoe had the youth feeling better.

Zoe was frustrated to have her request for a loan rejected. Inspired after seeing Tommy nick a packet of crisps, she decided to help herself to some of The Vic's takings. And, as she counted the takings, Kat soon realised where the stolen money had gone.

Upstairs, cash in hand, Zoe called a Private Investigator, ready to begin the search for her son.
