Joel was once again the talk of Walford after causing a shocking incident at school, and assaulting Amy Mitchell in the process. Back home, the local teenagers and their parents debated what had happened. And, as Vicki confronted Joel, he unleashed a sickening attack on his stepmother, leaving her battered and bruised on the kitchen floor. Here’s everything that happened on EastEnders tonight – and what happens next. Amy was in a state after her latest run-in with Joel (Credit: BBC) What happened in EastEnders tonight: Out of the mouth of babes It was a new day in Walford, and something terrible had happened at Walford High. As the parents’ phones lit up, a tearful Amy ran through the market. As Amy returned home to her parents, fragments of what had happened emerged. Hijacking the school Bluetooth, Joel and Tommy (but mostly Joel) had played a pornographic video on the big screen at assembly, leaving the kids shocked, appalled (and in the case of the boys) amused. Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Disgusted by his behaviour, Amy had confronted Joel, giving him a shove. He’d responded by hitting – or pushing – her. Gathering in the Square for all to see, the parents debated what had happened and who was responsible. As it all raged on, Julie arrived on the scene, and explained that the school were taking what had happened very seriously indeed. Seriously enough that the headmaster had contacted the police. Joel attacked Vicki (Credit: BBC) Joel attacked Vicki in EastEnders tonight Aware that trouble was headed his way, Joel ordered Tommy to back him up. After tracking the boys down, Alfie and Ross dragged them home, where they were in for a rollicking from their parents. As Kat attempted to discipline her son, Tommy parroted back lines from the Drake Zagan playbook. Meanwhile, Joel was entirely unintimidated by Ross and all his frothing at the mouth. As Joel mocked his dad, Ross exploded, grabbing him by the collar and punching a door. In an attempt to de-escalate, Vicki ordered Ross out of the house. With Ross gone, Vicki attempted to take matters into her own hands. And, as their argument escalated, Joel turned violent, punching her as she described him as ‘weak’ and a ‘beta male.’ Pulling out his phone, Joel unleashed a brutal attack, recording a violent assault which left her beaten and bloodied on the kitchen floor. Leaving Vicki barely conscious and nursing an injury of his own, Joel then skulked off, into the night. But what happens next? Meanwhile, unaware of what Joel has done, Ross apologises to his son for their argument. Downplaying what happened, Joel goes to Tommy and demands refuge. Tommy hides him in the Slaters’ garage, causing Zoe to grow suspicious. She knows that Tommy is hiding something (or someone), but Tommy keeps tight-lipped to protect his friend. Later, Ross is shocked when he learns that Vicki is in the hospital, and tries to dismiss rumours that Joel was responsible for the attack.
