What happened in EastEnders tonight: As Greg Dolan holds Kat hostage, Jack prepares to confess

Dolan's out for revenge
Joel Harley

A vengeful Greg Dolan returned in EastEnders tonight (Wednesday, September 17), just as Jack Branning‘s conscience got too heavy to bear. Dolan showed up after being tracked down by Zoe and Stacey, demanding another bundle of cash in exchange for his battering.

Sneaking into The Queen Vic (thanks, Freddie and Mo), he took Kat hostage. Meanwhile, Jack told Denise of his plan to confess to the shooting.

Vengeful Greg Dolan returned  in EastEnders tonight

Still fretting about her dark past, Zoe and Stacey set out in search of Greg Dolan. Hijacking one of Kat’s cabs, they staked out his grotty flat, and soon confirmed that he’s still alive.

No harm done, then. Well, not yet. Seeing proof of life wasn’t enough for Stacey though, and she stormed over to confront the grubby Private Dick.

Dolan’s knock to the head hadn’t cured his delightful personality any, and he began ranting and raving after spotting Zoe in the car. As Dolan demanded cash, Stacey and Zoe beat a hasty retreat.

Back home, Stacey threatened to call the police. Zoe wasn’t having any of it though, and a frustrated Stacey decided to tell Kat everything that had been going on instead.

She and Zoe arrived at The Vic to find Greg Dolan there – holding Kat at knifepoint.

What else happened in EastEnders tonight?

As a hostage situation unfolded at The Vic, Kathy and Vicki set off to Birmingham on a mission of their own. Meanwhile, a fuming Kojo returned from his daytrip to Luton, and Cindy spotted an opportunity in Lauren and Peter's troubles.

Here's everything else that happened in EastEnders tonight.

Vicki struggled with Joel

With Ross exhausted with work, he tasked Vicki with dealing with the Joel situation. As she vented to Kathy in the cafe, she got a call from the school informing her that Joel had skipped school. Enlisting Kathy's help, they set out to intercept Joel and Tommy on their trip to Birmingham.

On the tube, Tommy was stressing about lying to his mum. Vicki and Kathy arrived at the convention centre in Birmingham, where they utilised security to eject the boys from the premises. After dragging Tommy and Joel outside while an audience of little men with little, uh, you know-what's looked on, they returned home.

In The Vic, a despairing Vicki turned to Julie for help.

Kojo returned

With Kojo still not back from Luton, a desolate Harry sat down for a drink with his mum at Harry's Barn, who was unconcerned for Kojo's welfare, but very worried about Harry's situation.

Kojo finally called as Harry's panicking continued, from a payphone in Luton. When he returned he wasn't in the best mood, and raged at Harry for failing to protect him. He was just as miffed at Okie, although he and Harry remain powerless.

Cindy took advantage

It was Louise's birthday, and Lauren was dismayed to find that the present she'd ordered hadn't arrived yet. With the little man disappointed at the profound lack of a shiny new VR headset, Peter and Lauren were feeling the pressure - although somehow, it was Lauren who ended up shouldering the blame.

Spotting an opportunity, Cindy suggested that she help out with childminding duties. The catch? It'd very much be a live-in position.
