Callum and Johnny didn't waste much time

Jonno Highway breathed his last in EastEnders tonight (Thursday, September 11), after suffering a heart attack during his meeting with Callum. Growing emotional after the death of his father, Callum fell back into Johnny’s arms – unaware that he’d lied about Jonno’s dying words.

Is the affair back on?

Elsewhere, following his blackmail attempt on Jack, Ravi made plans for his family. However, a warning from his drug dealer bosses soon put a dampener on the good mood. And, after suffering a crisis of faith, Julie received a pep talk from Phil.

Here’s everything that happened in EastEnders tonight.

Callum met with Jonno in EastEnders tonight

Having learned that Jonno was back in town, Phil decided to check in on Callum. While he offered to have him ‘sorted out,’ Callum was ready to go ahead with the meeting and hear Jonno out. Johnny was overjoyed to hear the news, and they shared a moment on the Square as he agreed to pass on the good news.

Callum and Johnny awaited nervously as Jonno arrived at the flat. And, as he settled in with a four pack of beers, an awkward family reunion took place. Jonno told Callum that he was proud of him for his career achievements.

While he didn’t exactly apologise for his past homophobia, Jonno did appear to be making a genuine effort. After learning about Ben and Lexi, Jonno shared that his health had taken a turn, and that he was no longer able to work.

It was then that the penny dropped for Callum. Realising that his dad was after money, Callum refused to bail him out.

As their argument turned nasty, Jonno collapsed with a heart attack. As Johnny called an ambulance, Callum rushed to fetch Anthony.

Johnny and Callum’s affair continued as Jonno died

With Jonno dying on the floor, he passed on one last message for his son. “Tell him I’m ashamed of him,” he gasped with his last breath. Callum arrived home (minus Anthony) as paramedics piled the dead body into the back of an ambulance.

As if the Square didn’t have enough cover-ups on its hands, Johnny warned Callum to get lost before the police could arrive, fearing it wouldn’t look good for him to have met with the man he’d arrested only yesterday.

Returning home, a bereft and guilty Callum reflected on the better times he’d had with Jonno. Seeing how upset Callum was, Johnny chose to lie about Jonno’s dying words – telling him he’d asked for Callum’s forgiveness, and said he loved him.

An emotional Callum fell into Johnny’s arms, and another passionate embrace. Johnno Highway would be rolling in his not-yet-dug grave. Ballum fans too.

Ravi received a chilling threat in EastEnders tonight

After sending Nugget and Avani packing to college, Ravi stripped off to play Naked Chef. He was left red-faced when Avani returned home unexpectedly, to find her dad topless and ready for some morning delight.

Jack was testing out his newfound honest approach, and had told Denise about Ravi’s blackmail. For once, they were united, and she mooted a plan to be rid of her former lover, once and for all.

Later, Priya emerged from the flat to find a for sale sign being installed outside. After reassuring her that everything was fine, Ravi confronted Jack and Denise over the house sale. Jack revealed that selling the flat was necessary if he wanted to raise the £100k.

In The Vic, Ravi met with Priya and the kids to go public with their rekindled romance. Lying to the kids, he told them that Eve had gotten back control of their assets from Bernie, and he was planning on upsizing their living situation.

Meanwhile, he reassured Priya that he was only getting what he was owed from Jack – and that they had nothing to worry about from his old friends. As it turned out, Ravi’s problems wouldn’t be so easily solved.

Meeting with Okie outside, Ravi got an ominous threat from his higher ups, who hadn’t taken too kindly to his plan to leave the business. Pictures of Avani and Nugget, on the Square.

How much danger is Ravi’s family in?

Nigel, Julie and Phil played happy families

Phil and Nigel were helping a nervous Julie prepare for her job interview – although Phil’s belligerent approach seemed to be doing more harm than good. As she prepared to leave for her interview, George arrived home, only for a confused Nigel to lash out.

Remembering what Julie had said, he accused George of being her other man, exploding in anger. Putting off her job interview, Julie settled down with Nigel on the sofa, putting her husband first.

Phil returned home to find Julie still there. Julie had grown upset, and felt as though her presence hadn’t been good for Nigel.

After talking her around, Phil sent her off to her job interview. When she returned home, Nigel and Phil had prepared her a surprise – new chickens for Julie!

Zoe issued a warning

At the hospital, Kat pressed Zoe over her decision to move in with Stacey. She was desperate to have Zoe stay with her at The Vic instead, but a worried Zoe just wants the quiet life. She promised to leave forever, should anyone find out that she was back on the Square.

Back home, Freddie and Tommy had shared news of Zoe’s shooting online, with a social media post begging for information.
