Oscar couldn't keep quiet any longer

A guilt-ridden Oscar Branning confessed to Patrick in EastEnders tonight (Monday, August 25). As Jack attempted to reconcile his own feelings on the matter, Oscar took things into his own hands… and admitted to Patrick that he’d been behind the attack.

But how will Patrick take the news?

Elsewhere, Tommy was shocked when he uncovered evidence of Alife’s lies. Stumbling across his mum’s stolen phone, Joel listened to the drunken message from Alfie, and learned the truth about Zoe.

What will he do with this information?

Meanwhile, Johnny’s return to Walford soon made Callum jealous, and George ruined everyone’s Carnival plans.

Anthony returned to Walford in EastEnders tonight

Kat was shocked when she bumped into her old flame outside The Vic. As they caught up (he’s got a wife and two boys now!), they swapped some flirty banter… and an awkward exchange about his ex and her daughter, Zoe.

With Anthony’s arrival imminent, Kim and Yolande’s fussing left Patrick annoyed. He ordered them to keep quiet about the attack for Anthony’s sake, playing it off as a tumble when his son arrived.

Count on Jack to drop everyone in it, swinging by to reveal there’d been an update on Patrick’s case.

With Anthony fuming over not being told about his dad’s injury, Jack told the family that the police were closing the case. Upset at the family babying him, he attempted to boost everyone’s spirits with a trip to The Vic later.

Oscar confessed to Patrick

Also struggling with a secret, a guilty Jack told Denise that Oscar had been the one who attacked Patrick. She stormed over to have it out with Oscar herself, where a vicious confrontation ensued.

Afterwards, Jack sat down for a more calm conversation with his nephew. Reminded of how they’d helped cover up the club crush for Chelsea, Jack agreed to keep quiet.

Oscar, however, couldn’t take the guilt any longer. Full of torment over the attack, he admitted that he’d been the one responsible.

How will Patrick react?

Joel got a job in EastEnders tonight

With influencer Drake Zagan hawking tickets to his live show for £90 (!), Joel was desperate to go. He tried to hit up his dad for the money, but, with a heap of Joel-shaped debt to pay off, Ross was having none of it.

After Kat and Ian both turned him down, Joel found work from Harry, who needed a hand wiping Okie’s stolen phones.

Tommy learned about Alfie’s Zoe lies

The Slaters were thrilled at Lily’s return home. However, she was disconcerted to hear that Stacey was still getting abuse online for her SecretCam pics – and quickly discovered that Tommy had been ‘liking’ a number of these sexist posts himself.

Later, Kat and Alfie confronted Tommy over his secret profiles. He was unrepentant, telling them how Joel was essentially right in his condemnation of Stacey.

As Tommy stormed out, Kat despaired, fearing for Joel’s influence. Tommy headed over to see the man himself, where he discovered Joel hard at work wiping phones.

Recognising his mum’s phone among the loot, Tommy pocketed the device.

As they listened in to Alfie’s drunken message, Tommy was shocked to discover that Alfie had been lying to Kat… and exactly what he’d been lying about.

George pooped the party

Having palmed the stolen phones off on Joel, Harry was ready to go to Notting Hill Carnival with Gina, Anna and Kojo.

A down-in-the-dumps George diverted them over to The Vic instead, playing on everyone’s sympathy (but mostly Kojo’s) by playing Georgie-no-mates.

Callum felt jealous

Callum was happy to see Johnny back in town. Having scored a big promotion, Johnny had left Linda on her cruise and was back for work.

Callum buried his obvious elation to suggest that they give each other a wide berth from now on – and was disappointed when Johnny agreed.

At The Albert, as Johnny caught up with his gran, he was joined by a man he’d met on the cruise.

Callum looked on, simmering with jealousy, which seemed to upset Lexi, who flounced off at Callum’s green-eyed drooling.
