Zoe's stalker unmasked? What happens next as Jean incriminates herself... with more threats to come

Was it Jean all along?

Jean Slater was exposed as Zoe’s stalker in EastEnders tonight (Thursday, November 20) as a huge piece of evidence suddenly emerged. Finding an earring in the barrel store after last night’s attack, Alfie realised that Zoe was innocent of tormenting herself, and issued an apology.

This was all Zoe needed, and she set out to confront Vicki. The earring wasn’t hers though, and a new suspect came to the fore as tonight’s episode ended.

Zoe was out for answers

As the family mulled over yesterday’s events, Alfie apologised again for doubting Zoe. She felt as though she was getting nowhere, but a fresh clue had emerged – Alfie had found a paint-covered earring in the barrel store.

She was convinced that it belonged to Vicki, and was out for blood when Alfie intercepted. They paid Jack a visit instead, and asked him to look into the situation.

Unfortunately, Walford’s most bent copper was in by-the-book mode, and demanded more substantial evidence before he could investigate. Dismayed, they were forced to listen as Jean launched into another rant against homewrecking Zoe, who’d caused her beloved Stacey to leave.

Jean continued to rub salt into the wound after witnessing a tense exchange between Zoe and Vicki. Vicki, meanwhile, had a point. She didn’t need a few paint cans to ruin Zoe’s life.

Still, Zoe wasn’t listening to reason, and she broke into Sharon’s place to go looking for evidence herself. Alas, all she found (besides the ghastly wallpaper) were memories of Dirty Den, the man she’d helped murder.

She was caught trying to sneak out by Kathy, who demanded to know what she’d been up to. She escorted Zoe back to The Vic, where Kathy reminded her how Vicki had bigger problems on her plate than Zoe Slater.

Zoe’s stalker ‘exposed’ in EastEnders tonight

Afterwards, a furious Alfie unloaded on Kat and Zoe for the break-in. All thoroughly out of ideas, they returned downstairs, clueless as to how to proceed.

Thankfully, they didn’t have to look far. Spotting the earring on the bar, Jean snatched it up. “Oh, where’d you find this?” she exclaimed. “I’ve been looking for it everywhere!”

Is Jean Zoe’s stalker in EastEnders? What happens next as Zoe receives a menacing message

As the story continues next week, Zoe is convinced that she knows who’s been stalking her. But when a mystery number begins bombarding The Vic and the Slaters’ mobiles with numbers, Kat and Alfie struggle to get behind her theory.

Frustrated by her family, Zoe finds a shoulder to cry on in Anthony. The next day, she’s horrified when she receives a Christmas card with a menacing message inside.

What else happened in EastEnders tonight?

As new evidence emerged in the hunt for Zoe's stalker, Ross made a huge gesture in an attempt to win Vicki back. Bad timing - given everything that had happened that day, she was in no mood for his attempts at romance.

Elsewhere, Jasmine broke into the surgery as her vendetta against Cindy continued, while Zack tried to reach out to Barney.

Here's everything else that happened in EastEnders tonight.

Ross made a grand gesture

Still determined to win Vicki back, Ross had big plans. Taking a cue from the 1989 romcom Stay Anything, he set himself up outside the house with a portable boombox, and The Killers playing.

Neither that nor the pictures of their relationship he'd strung up all over Albert Square had the hoped effect though, and she shut him down yet again.

"You're his dad. And that'll never change," she told him, before demanding he remove everything.

Ouch.

Jasmine led Oscar astray

Oscar remained frustrated by his lack of progress with Jasmine. She's living in his room, now that Cindy's back, but that wasn't good enough for him. Luckily for him, a bonding experience beckoned.

Still set on digging more dirt on Cindy, she engineered a way of breaking into the surgery. Stealing the doctor's keys as he sipped drinks at The Albert, she and Oscar snuck in for a little 'alone time' together.

After the fact, Jasmine packed Oscar off with another excuse. She then hacked into the computer (apparently the doctor's not up on his GDPR training) and began searching for information on Cindy...

Zack reached out to Barney

Zack listened in as Billy and Honey explained how hard things were for Barney at the moment. Seeing him upset, Vicki joined Zack over a coffee, while he explained how bad he felt at not being there for his (biological) son.

Meanwhile, Nicola and Barney were troubled to find Harry on the sofa, strung-out on drugs. After rejecting a visit from Honey, she received a call from George, who hadn't taken too kindly to her texting Kojo about Harry.

She wasn't thrilled, then, to find Barney and Zack together at McKlunky's. Raging at Zack for making a move on her son, she issued another warning to stay away.
