Since arriving in Walford, Joel’s grown increasingly out of control. Despite their best attempts, neither his dad nor stepmum Vicki Fowler have been able to curb Joel’s behaviour. And, with EastEnders spoilers revealing that he’s soon to violently attack Vicki, a new documentary will explore online misogyny and the ‘manosphere.’ Stars Max Murray and Diane Parish will front EastEnders Investigates: The Manosphere (Credit: BBC) EastEnders to air special documentary based on Joel Marshall’s story Titled EastEnders Investigates: The Mansosphere, this special 90-minute documentary will take the cast on an exploration of the issues raised by Joel’s mysoginy storyline. On the way, it will tell the stories of real-life individuals whose lives were affected by misogyny. Joel Marshall star Max Murray will front the documentary, alongside Diane Parish, who plays Denise Fox, and Ellie Dadd, who plays Amy Mitchell. These characters will also take on a prominent role in Joel’s storyline as it unfolds that week. The cast will talk to experts including Professor Harriet Over (York University). Other voices being highlighted will include poet Sam Browne – who went viral online for his poem on misogyny – and charity Beyond Equality. With Vicki and Ross unable to control Joel, he heads off to school with Tommy. The next day, the pair get into an incident which raises a debate between the parents about the impact of harmful material online. Kat, Alife, Ross and Vicki attempt to police Joel and Tommy on their misogynistic views.
