EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal has revealed how she’s already suffered an injury – two days into her training for Strictly Come Dancing. The actress will be trading Walford in for the Strictly ballroom this year, taking her place in the line-up alongside the likes of Dani Dyer, Thomas Skinner and Alex Kingston.

As such, she’s begun training for her Strictly stint – although she’s already suffered an injury which has taken her off her feet.

Balvinder Sopal reveals details of Strictly injury

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Balvinder shared details of her dance injury. “So it’s the second day of training and I’m at physio. Um, something popped and I’m here to find out what exactly.”

She reassured fans: “I’m fine. Everything is okay – I can still walk and move, but my left glute, my left hip is feeling a little tight and uneasy and I’m going to get someone to look at it.

Of her Strictly training schedule, Balvinder said: “I can’t tell you, this is the hardest I’ve ever worked. The pros are incredible. Superhuman. Literal Gods, honestly.”

She added: “It’s brilliant and I’m loving every second of it.”

Balvinder Sopal shares EastEnders update ahead of Strictly stint

Earlier this week, Balvinder revealed her plans for juggling her soap work with her appearances on the dance competition. Speaking to The Radio Times at last week’s National Television Awards, she said: “It will be a sort of reduced schedule, but I am working there.”

She continued: “And actually, I quite like the idea that I get to do both. Strictly and EastEnders have a really great relationship.

“We always have somebody from the show on Strictly, so they’re very mindful.”

Suki Panesar star Balvinder will follow in the footsteps of previous EastEnders stars Emma Barton, Bobby Brazier and Jamie Borthwick, all of whom competed on Strictly at the same time as living and working in Walford.

But will she join Kara Tointon, Jill Halfpenny and Rose Ayling-Ellis in lifting the Glitterball trophy?
