It’s finally happening! Zoe Slater is set to reunite with mother Kat after twenty years apart. The soap teased Zoe’s return to Walford earlier this year, as she briefly met with Stacey and Alfie before fleeing the country. Alfie set off in hot pursuit, but his mission to track down Zoe’s daughter ultimately came to naught. And, as Alfie returned home full of guilt and lies, it looked as though Zoe was lost for good. But with Alfie having admitted the truth and Tommy in search of his sister, Kat and Zoe’s reunion is imminent. But how did they become estranged in the first place? Viewers of Classic EastEnders will remember that they parted on good terms, bidding a fond farewell at Walford tube station on June 24, 2005. After raging at his co-conspirator Stacey, for hiding the truth from her, she stormed off to the playground, where she wallowed in her misery. In doing so, Kat addressed how the rift between her and Zoe had grown. “When she left, we was alright,” she told Jean. “But then bit by bit, she just faded away. Maybe spending time on her own made her realise that, you know, there was too much water under the bridge.” She continued: “And I do get it, why she wants nothing to do with me.”Don't miss a single story!
