The ruffians had pushed Elaine to the ground and left Kojo cowering in the corner as they trashed the place. The pair were relieved when Okie came to their rescue, scaring the gang off. Of course, Okie had planned the whole thing – paying one of his pals to menace Kojo and Elaine – and they fell for it. Later, in The Vic, both Kojo and Elaine sang Okie’s praises to George and Harry. Okie’s act of heroism managed to get George off his back, after he’d grown suspicious of Okie when he’d seen Kojo’s expensive watch and tales of his new pal. He also succeeded in getting Kojo to trust him with a key to the flat, relenting on his earlier refusal to let Okie invite friends around. But what does Okie have planned? Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Kojo is oblivious to what is going on in his own home (Credit: BBC) ‘Cuckooing’ explained as Okie continues to manipulate Kojo in EastEnders There’s a term for what Okie and Ravi are doing to Kojo – ‘cuckooing.’ Cuckooing is a term coined by the police, wherein a criminal organisation takes over the home of a vulnerable person, using it as a base of operations for drug dealing, trafficking or storing illegal goods. Cuckooing has been depicted in crime dramas Line of Duty and Happy Valley, both of which raised attention of the issue. Jack tells George he has to arrest Kojo after he takes drugs (Credit: BBC) Kojo in drugs terror next week Okie’s manipulation of Kojo puts him in danger next week, when he encourages Kojo to take drugs. Returning home after being let down by George, Kojo finds that Okie and his acquaintances have taken over the place. Okie gives Kojo a pill, telling him it will help with his nerves. Later, George finds Kojo in a state, and soon realises that he’s taken drugs. George takes Kojo to Phil’s home. However, Jack arrives soon afterwards and discovers that Kojo has taken drugs. George is horrified when Jack tells him that he’ll need to arrest Kojo. Later, George is determined to prove that Harry gave Kojo the drugs.
