According to reports, members of the cast – including Ian Beale star Adam Woodyatt – were filming scenes when a woman claimed that a fellow extra attempted to forcibly kiss her. As bosses halted filming, security are then said to have grabbed the man. A scuffle then reportedly broke out, resulting in police charging the the man with common assault, against a second person. The cast were reportedly shooting when the incident occurred between two extras (Credit: BBC) EastEnders actor arrested following ‘indecent assault’ A source told The Sun on Sunday: “Filming was actually going on in the fictional Albert Square set at the time the woman made her complaint. She was working as an extra, as was the alleged assailant. “She complained that he had tried to kiss her without her consent.” Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers According to the tabloid’s source, things ‘got heated’ between the man and members of security. After being questioned, the police reportedly took the man away. Filming then resumed after a lengthy break. “Everyone involved in the production, including the cast and crew, acted very responsibly in an extremely difficult situation. They had to look after the woman while also reporting it to the police who turned up at the studios and arrested the man,” the source added. Star Adam Woodyatt was reportedly filming scenes when the incident occurred (Credit: BBC) EastEnders issues statement following set arrest In a statement issued later, EastEnders said: “While we would never comment on individuals, EastEnders has on-site security and well-established procedures in place to safeguard the safety and welfare of everyone who works on the show.” Hertfordshire Police also released a statement. This read: “We can confirm we did receive a report of an incident that took place in Eldon Avenue, Borehamwood on Wednesday May 7. “The suspect, a man aged in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of common assault and sexual assault in relation to two victims.
