EastEnders fan theory predicts that Sam Mitchell is Zoe's mystery tormentor

EastEnders fans are convinced that a figure from Zoe Slater’s past is the one tormenting her – and they think it could be Sam Mitchell. Zoe has become convinced that she’s the target of a harrassment campaign, after discovering someone defaced a picture of her and Kat.

Her theory picked up pace when a traumatic videotape found itself inserted into a video player for all to see. And, as Halloween night took a chilling turn, someone attacked her in the barrel store – pushing her to the floor, then locking her in.

While Anthony seems to think that paranoid Zoe is in the middle of a paranoid break, somebody may well be out to get Zoe.

But who? And to what end?

Sam Mitchell is targeting Zoe, EastEnders fans predict

Sharing theories as to the identity of Zoe’s stalker online, some wondered whether the story might mark the beginning of Sam’s mooted return to EastEnders.

“So is it Sam Mitchell messing with Zoe then or what?” asked one fan on X.

“Is Sam Mitchell already back and is Zoe’s stalker??” said another.

“Is Sam Mitchell Zoe’s stalker? We’ve heard rumours she’s back and this could be a great way to do it,” said a third.

A fourth wrote: “A potential theory. It Is revealed that Sam Mitchell is Zoe Slater’s stalker and she’s in cahoots with Anthony Trueman hence his shady behaviour or they’re secretly in a new relationship.”

This follows a few red flags that Anthony has himself been raising. He thinks Zoe’s going through a psychotic break, but does he have an ulterior motive? A shady plan with Sam Mitchell, perhaps?

Sam Mitchell’s return ‘revealed’

Rumours first began circulating that Sam is heading back to EastEnders last month. In a piece for Inside Soap last month, columnist Laura-Jayne wrote: “Actress Kim Medcalf, who plays sly Sam, has been spotted on the EastEnders set, sparking speculation as to what brings Phil’s kid sister back again.”

While the BBC haven’t officially confirmed that Sam is coming back, this adds to rumours that actress Kim has resumed the role.
