Teddy Mitchell Share By Joel Harley Dec 12 2025 By Joel Harley Dec 12 2025 Teddy Mitchell made his exit from EastEnders last night (Thursday, December 11), departing Walford after a disastrous trial for the Mitchells. Penitent Teddy’s guilty plea (for a crime he didn’t commit) did him no good, and the judge sentenced him to 20 years in prison… in Durham. As the episode ended, Teddy was carted away without so much as a goodbye from Nicola or the kids. Although, to be fair, they were a bit distracted by Harry’s overdose, which left him fighting for his life… again. This marks an end to actor Roland Manookian’s tenure on the soap, following this week’s news that he’d been axed after only 18 months in the role. Did Teddy deserve more? According to The Sun, BBC bosses took the decision to axe Teddy after deciding that the character had ‘run his course.’ A source said: “Roland took a big risk agreeing to join EastEnders after his long and successful career in film. There was big hopes for the Mitchells being revitalised by the new family but things obviously changed for some reason and the material just wasn’t there for Teddy. “Bosses made the decision that the character had run his course and that was that. It seems such a waste.” A spokesperson for the BBC told the tabloid: “We can confirm Roland will be leaving EastEnders this year, and we wish him all the best for the future.” Read more: Who’s leaving, joining and returning to EastEnders?
