EastEnders fans spot huge plot hole in Nugget storyline as he suffers another terrifying attack

The truth won't stay hidden for long...

Eagle-eyed EastEnders fans have spotted a huge plot hole in the latest Nugget storyline that is just waiting to tear the Gulati family apart.

Poor Nugget has been struggling since he was attacked in the street and left for dead. And understandably so. Not only was his attack unprovoked, but he was also doing a good deed at the time, looking for his missing dad.

But what the teenager doesn’t know is that the person who left him with a bleed on the brain was his own father. The shocking attack came when Ravi was under the influence, having been drugged by Nicola and Harry Mitchell in a revenge plot.

Ravi started hallucinating that his dead dad, Nish, was tormenting him from beyond the grave, and he mistook his son for his late father.

EastEnders: Ravi hides his guilt from Nugget

The sickening reality of what he had done hit Ravi shortly after he went to see Nugget in hospital. And it wasn’t long before he confessed everything to a devastated Priya.

They are the only two who know the shocking truth about what really happened that night. But keeping such a huge secret is tearing Ravi apart.

Ravi has turned to self-harm to try to cope with the guilt of what he has done. And now Nugget is home, things are only getting tougher. Struggling with the constant reminder of what he has done to his son, Ravi is a man on the edge.

Meanwhile, Priya is fighting to keep her family together, desperate to protect Nugget from the truth.

The truth won’t stay hidden for long

However, fans are convinced that there is a gaping plot hole in this storyline, because it is only a matter of time before Nugget regains his memory from that night…

“It’s not going to take Nugget long to work out what Ravi has done. It’ll make Ravi feel worse the more his guilt rises,” said one fan on X.

Another agreed: “I understand Priya wants to protect Nugget, but there is a big chance he could remember what happened.”

While a third viewer added: “I actually agree with Ravi’s take on telling Nugget what happened. Nugget is already suspicious and will eventually connect the dots. At least telling him earlier is less damage than later.”

EastEnders: Nugget faces more trauma

Today’s episode (Tuesday, January 20) sees Nugget leave the house for the first time. He heads off to meet his friends, despite Priya being concerned it’s too soon. And it turns out she is right.

The reality of being out in the Square is too much for the teen. He starts to have flashbacks to the night someone attacked him, panicking that it will happen again.

Thankfully, his best friend, Denzel, finds him in the middle of a panic attack and rushes to get help.

Thankfully, Suki is close by and calms Nugget down. But it looks like his road to recovery is going to be much longer than anyone realised. Could Nugget soon put two and two together and work out the real reason his dad can’t look him in the eye?
