Lexi Pearce continues to struggle in today’s EastEnders as the enormity of Nigel’s move into a home weighs on her mind. But as she skips school once again, fans are worried about her future on the soap. For a young teen, Lexi has been through more than her fair share of heartache. First, she lost her mum to a brain tumour, and shortly afterwards, her dad went to prison. Since then, Lexi has found out that Jay is in a new romance and expecting a baby. Her home life is also far from calm, with Callum getting divorced from Ben and moving Johnny into their flat. More recently, Sam has been diagnosed with cancer, and Nigel’s moved into a care home. It’s no wonder Lexi is finding all the changes tough to deal with. She heads to Phil’s house, hoping to hide there. But Sam catches her skipping school and asks what is wrong. Although Sam is recovering from another round of radiotherapy, she offers to have a girlie pamper day with Lexi. However, Phil is keen to avoid visiting Nigel and uses looking after Lexi as an excuse.Don't miss a single story! But when Callum learns she has skipped school yet again, he isn’t happy. Knowing she should be at school, he tells Lexi he will have to make her a doctor’s appointment, trying to call her bluff. However, Lexi is so desperate not to go to school that she agrees to the appointment and says she won’t be well enough for school tomorrow, either. Phil is pleased to have an excuse not to see Nigel (Credit: BBC) Fans worry for Lexi in EastEnders Fans have been worrying about Lexi in recent weeks as the toll of all the changes hit her hard… “I would love EastEnders to actually look at Lexi‘s wellbeing. It had better not be a 5-minute plot line. That girl has been through so much,” said one fan on X. Over on Reddit, fans agreed: “I wonder what’s going on with Lexi? This looks like the start of a big storyline for her.” “I hope Lexi moves in with Phil. It’s past time. They’re such a nice little duo, and I would love to see more of Grandad Phil,” said another viewer. Someone else pointed out that Lexi might need more than family support. “I hope Phil does take her to the doctor and she gets a note about her mental health. Maybe it would wake Callum up to the seriousness of what’s going on.” Lexi has been putting on a brave face (Credit: BBC) Isabella Brown’s future as Lexi in EastEnders is confirmed Fans who have worried about Lexi’s future on the show, however, can breathe a sigh of relief. Isabella’s musical theatre school, KA Arts, shared an Instagram post recently, revealing the young star had signed up to play Lexi for another year. The school said: “We are so proud of our incredibly talented Isabella, who has been confirmed to continue playing the role of #Lexi in @bbceastenders for the 8th consecutive year.”“Isabella is heading into an extremely busy filming period, yet is still committed to her training and school studies.” Phew! So with Lexi on our screens for another year, it looks like we have got plenty more drama to come for the young teenager. But will Callum and Phil be able to get her back to school any time soon?
