Ravi's tormented as he begins self-harming... but EastEnders fans can't forgive what he did to Harry and Kojo

He's only got himself to blame...

EastEnders has seen Ravi Gulati hit rock bottom ever since he unwittingly attacked his own son while under the influence of drugs, and began to self-harm this week. But, that doesn’t mean fans are feeling sorry for him. Far from it…

Last night’s episode (Wednesday, January 14) came to a shocking end when Ravi started hurting himself as he struggles with the guilt of everything that has happened.

Fans will know that Nicola and Harry Mitchell got their revenge for Ravi’s months of torment by spiking his drink. They wanted him to feel just an ounce of the pain he caused Harry and Kojo at the end of last year. But their plan soon spun wildly out of control.

As the drugs took hold, Ravi started seeing his evil, dead dad, Nish. But the evening didn’t just end with Ravi’s torment. He also attacked Nugget in the street, mistaking him for Nish and leaving him for dead in the road.

It was only because Vinny happened to find the teenager in the street that Nugget’s still here. Doctors rushed Nugget into surgery with a bleed on the brain, and he’s lucky to be alive.

With his actions tormenting his every waking moment and the walls closing in, Ravi is on a downward spiral. But fans are convinced Ravi brought this on himself…

Ravi started to self-harm in EastEnders this week

There’s no denying that EastEnders’ Ravi has a lot on his mind right now.

Not only does he have to contend with the fact that he left his own son for dead, but he is also facing pressure from Jack Branning. Ravi’s new role as a police informant means he has got all eyes on him, and if he wants to stay out of jail, he needs to deliver the goods.

There is also the fact that he is trying to keep his family together.

So far, Priya is the only other person who knows what really happened the night Nugget was attacked. But can they keep the secret much longer? With the police sniffing around and Avani asking questions, Ravi needs to keep his head straight if he wants to keep those he loves close.

EastEnders fans believe Ravi’s only got himself to blame

Viewers didn’t hold back when it came to their views on Ravi’s latest storyline… “I don’t feel one bit bad for Ravi. He should be in prison. I couldn’t care less about his resulting mental issues,” stated one fan on X.

Another added: “Typical EastEnders move, trying to force sympathy for Ravi like we’re supposed to forget everything he’s done. He never once spared a second thought for how he treated Harry or Kojo. Now we’re meant to suddenly feel sorry for him?”

A third fan agreed: “I’m all for a male mental health storyline, but not with Ravi. It feels like a cop out and a way to gloss over the stuff he’s done.”

Is there anything Ravi can do to change fans’ minds about him? If next week’s spoilers are anything to go by, it looks like he’s not about to redeem himself any time soon.

Ravi is living a nightmare

Next week will see Nugget struggling with the aftermath of his attack, still completely unaware that it was his own dad who gave him the beating.

The teenager can’t wait to get home next week, but while Nugget looks forward to returning to his home comforts, Ravi’s guilt intensifies.

Priya is desperate for the father and son to spend more time together, knowing what really happened that fateful night. But Ravi’s odd behaviour makes Nugget suspicious of his dad.

Desperate to make amends, Ravi suggests Nugget go outside to get some fresh air. But not knowing who attacked him is still playing on his mind, and the teenager has a panic attack in the street.

With Nugget terrified to leave the house and Ravi spiralling further into his own torment, is the family about to fall apart?
