From Jasmine’s many secrets to Zoe’s sinister stalker, and even Anna and Freddie’s romance, everything got going again after being stuck for ages. And we are very pleased about it! Here’s what we thought of the action in our EastEnders review. Jasmine attacked Cindy (Credit: BBC/Composite: EI) Jasmine’s dark past revealed After so much speculation about what Jasmine was up to in Albert Square, we got more clues this week. Article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Or did we? Elaine, Lauren and Cindy starting checking into Jasmine’s past this week. Lauren and Cindy met her mum, who warned them the teenager has a dark side. The whole conversation left Cindy convinced Jasmine was connected to the Ford family – the reason Cindy had to go into hiding all those years ago. And it looked like she was right when she confronted Jasmine and she shoved her down the stairs! Poor Cindy was carted off to hospital (again), while the Beale family closed ranks against Jasmine. Lauren asked Jasmine to leave, and she packed her bags – but not before popping in to Cindy’s hospital ward, first. On the face of it, the Fords targetting Cindy seems the obvious twist in this tale. A Kiss From A Rose was even playing in Beale’s Eels when Cindy shared her worries with Ian. Was that a nod to her years as Rose Knight? There was the card Jasmine received when she was in hospital, asking her to get well soon because she was needed. That definitely gave the impression she was working for someone. Then there was what she said when Nigel hit her with his car. “She needs to pay for what she did.” Was she talking about Cindy? Is Jasmine working for the Ford family? (Credit: BBC/Composite: EI) EastEnders review: Is it all a red herring? But, we keep thinking that Cindy’s been back in the Square for quite a while now. She’s been living in the place where she’s lived for years. Using her real name. She’s not exactly hard to track down, is she? Surely if the Fords were that determined to find her, they’d have done it ages ago? We reckon this might be a big old red herring – which makes us even more interested in what’s going on! Some fans think Jasmine’s actually after Cindy Jr, after she commented that Cindy was older than she’d expected. While we do agree that Cindy is a fine looking woman, we’re not sure she’d pass for her own 20-something daughter. Other viewers think Jasmine could actually be Zoe Slater’s daughter? Could be! Whoever Jasmine turns out to be, we’re absolutely sure we’ve not seen the last of her! Zoe’s got more whining to do (Credit: BBC/Composite: EI) Zoe’s stalker revealed? Speaking of Zoe Slater, after weeks of being tormented by her Stalking Nightmare, we’re suddenly much more interested in the whole thing. Because it looks like her sinister stalker could be Dr Trueman! Which actually also makes him a million times more interesting, too. Everyone’s a winner. Except Zoe, of course. Lauren lost £3000 (Credit: BBC) EastEnders review: Lauren got scammed As part of Scam Safe Week across the BBC, Lauren got cheated out of £3000. She was desperate for some shiny experimental treatment for her son, Jimmy, who is blind. When she couldn’t find the cash, she took the money the locals had raised at The Queen Vic’s quiz nights for a charity, and used that instead. And now she’s in trouble because it turned out the treatment was a scam, and the charity wants its dosh. Sometimes stories like this – for a specific reason like Comic Relief or Scam Safe Week – feel forced into the show, but actually this one felt plausible and real. We feel for Lauren and totally get why she’d be vulnerable to a scam of this sort. We’re just not sure how she’s going to get the money to pay the charity back.
